School is out and summer is here! We kicked things off with a visit from my parents!
We had such a fun, relaxed trip with lots of eating and shopping. On Friday we stayed in and enjoyed drinks on the balcony. It was nice to take it easy at the end of the week and catch up with my parents.
Saturday, we got up and headed south for a 3ish mile hike at the Cedar Ridge Preserve. It was hot, but the trail was so nice and it felt great to get out of the city. Afterwards, we gathered around a shady picnic table for lunch of chicken salad, fruit, olives, and veggies.
Our big event of the week was dinner out at Stampede 66 and the Ingrid Michelson concert.
The meal included the awesome Manhattan above, mushroom tamales and juicy brisket! Gotta love Texas cookin.
We all love Ingrid, so I surprised my dad with tickets. She puts on a great show! So sad to hear she’s no longer with Greg though!
My mom’s surprise was a massage! We went to Hiatus and each had a glorious 50 minutes of relaxation!!! I think I fell asleep at the end – oops!
Tuesday and Wednesday we went shopping and I helped my mom get some groovy new clothes (as she would say). I got a fun day dress and some much needed shorts.
We had one final dinner at Eureka, where we were all very impressed with the delicious bar food and half price wine.
Thanks for visiting mom and dad!
