I’m a student, a babysitter, and an intern. I eat a lot of bars. What can I say…they’re convenient. Aside from not being very filling, bars are expensive. And, the cheap ones have scary ingredients. So, given the circumstances of this whole internship thing, I thought it was time I made my own bars.
Well…they weren’t really my own bars, I obviously got the recipe here.
I choose walnuts and raisins as my fillers…
and then mixed the wet with the dry to make a watery-looking batter…
I topped these with coconut flakes who have been in my pantry patiently waiting to be sprinkled on something.
The bars came out of the oven nice and brown. They looked great…
And, they tasted great!
These were also fun to eat because it felt more like I was enjoying a dessert square, not a packaged bar. The one thing they might be missing is nut butter. Although they are great with AB spread on top, I may play with the recipe to incorporate nut butter in my next batch…because I’ll definitely be making these again.
Somehow, I got talked into babysitting tonight, but I’m still hoping to do something fun that involves eating or drinking when I finish.
PS: Happy Friday!
