I can finally cross Myers + Chang off my list, although I’m already excited to go back. The food was even more delicious and unique than I had heard!
These kitties welcomed us into the restaurant with their mechanical paws.
Mmmm…red wine. The Côtes du Rhône was bold and spicy, just how I like ’em.
Matt and I had a difficult time deciding what to order, but we ultimately ordered based on our server’s recommendation. Up first: the sweet potato fritters with peppers and chinese sausage. These were absolutely fabulous with melt-in-your-mouth spicy sweet potato creme in the middle…probably my favorite item of the evening.
Entrée number one was a triple pork mushu stir-fry made with pork, bacon, and chinese sauce with shiitakes. This was really meat-heavy and salty, but I actually loved it that way, especially wrapped in the tortillas.
We originally ordered cod as our second entrée, but we went with the braised streak tacos with pear, radish, and chili-lime salsa when we found out they were all out of cod. Had we realized the stir-fry was mostly meat and served with tortillas, we probably wouldn’t have ordered something so similar. Regardless, this was also really good, especially with the sweetness of the pear in the taco.
The overall experience was fantastic; I’d definitely like to go back and order some of the fish and veggie options because there were soo many others things I was dying to try on the menu. I love LOVE any type of ‘fusion’ food.

Today has been all about relaxing. I slept late, watched Meet the Press with Matt, and caught up on tons of blog reading. I also managed a glorious 45-minute run that was inspired by a few new iTunes purchases:
Katy Perry – Firework
One Republic – Secrets
Nelly – Just a Dream
Flo Rida – Club Can’t Handle Me
DJ Earworm’s OMG/Baby Mashup
I probably haven’t run more than 2 miles since the summer, when my stomach aches got really bad, so it felt sooo good to run again. I’d like to slowly bring it back into the exercise rotation, but I doubt I’ll ever be a regular runner again. That’s ok with me though:)
I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited for the short week. Have a nice evening!

November 21, 2010 at 6:02 pmAre you familiar with ApartmentTherapy.com? They just did a spread on Joanne Chang’s apartment. I haven’t been to Myer’s and Chang, but i’ve been to Flour bakery in Central Square and it’s awesome!

What a delicious date night – I swear, when you can get great food and great atmosphere, it really is the perfect storm.
