Nothing like coming home to cupcakes on a Friday afternoon:)
Kath, Kanz, and I split these three items (leaving the fourth part for Matt): red velvet, butterscotch, and a shot of cappacino.
Totally awesome, but a bite of each was just not satisfying enough….I need my own piece of cake!!!
After our snack, we headed to the Publick House for liquid nourishment. I started with a Victory brown ale spiked with coffee. It was lighter than other coffee beers I’ve had, but that made it more unique and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
At the the restaurant, we met up with Tina and Mal for dinner.
Tina is very experienced with the Publick House and knew to order the special brown bag french fries. They were INCREDIBLE!!! Perfectly brown on the outside, but thick and potato-y on the inside.
Round two was la fin du monde (my new fav from T-giving) split with Kath. I loved that first sip, but this didn’t taste quite as good as the dark beers on such a cold night…
Kath and I split a third beer, the Cisco Winter, which was not at all what we expected. It was described as a wild winter ale, but that must be code for sour ale because it made my cheeks pucker. I warmed up to it, and actually really liked it in the end.
For dinner, we split a house made veggie burger which was perfect…spicy and thick and close to the consistency of a real burger.
After saying goodnight to Tina and Mal, we headed to a local bar for beers (Sam Brick Red & Winter Warmer) and caught up with school psych friends. I’m really going to miss those guys when I move:( We called it a relatively early night because we’re headed to Newport in the morning for a little winter getaway.
I’m soooooo content from all the wonderful beer + food + friends & family 🙂
