Any guesses as to what we did last night?
Surprise, surprise, we drank lots of good beer and ate delicious food:)
I spotted one of my all time favorite beers in the Durham Whole Foods last week, so I snagged one to enjoy on vacation. It wasn’t quite as thick as I remember, but it sure tasted like chocolate.
I received this banana bread beer as a gift, we I shared it with everyone. The banana taste was good, but we all agreed is tasted a little skunked.
We all bundled up and journeyed out to the local seafood joint for dinner: Eb & Flo’s.
Matt and I split a New Belgium 1554 with dinner.
NC hush puppies & fried okra were enjoyed by all.
I ordered a side salad in place of fries with my meal, but I was accidentally brought a full salad and the fries, so Matt and I shared the salad to start.
The main event was a mahi cuban!
I traded half of my cuban for one of Matt’s fish tacos.
Both meals were really heavy, but in a delicious way. I came home stuffed to the brim though:(
We all gathered in Andrew’s room for a little football and dessert. Once my stomach recovered, I had a pumpkin cup and one of Matt’s mom’s gingerbread bars. Both were fab-u-loso.

This morning, we woke up to much better weather. Though the temps are still cold, the sun is shining and the wind is gone!
We were all kind of dragging this morning and decided exercise would be the best cure. I think I’m sad it’s our last day…
Kath, Matt, and I went on a quick two mile run to warm-up and then we did a mini version of boot camp.
Push-ups, stretchy band bicep curls, planks, and burpies with a lap around the field in-between each rotation.
We only got through two rotations before our muscles were tired.
Lunch was a more appealing option…
See ya.

December 28, 2010 at 8:08 pmBoth of those beers sound absolutely delicious! I’m going to have to look for them around here. 🙂 I’ve tried a beer that tastes like bananas before, but it was a different one. Can’t remember the name though. I should’ve documented it better!

December 29, 2010 at 4:54 pmFirst off, I love New Belgium beer! I visited the brewery in Ft. Collins, CO and have been in love ever since.
Second, my husband and I currently live in Boston (for 10 years now since college) and are also considering a move to Durham in a year! He’s hoping to do his post doctorate research at Duke and we both are looking forward to some cheaper living. I cannot wait to follow your blog and learn more about the area! Best of luck 🙂
