Fashion Friday: Updates

So, I left you guys hanging on a few things and I thought I’d give you an update.

First, the running shoes issue. I actually took the Asics home with me and ran a mile on the treadmill. Something had changed. These aren’t the same shoes I’ve been running in for three years. They felt stiff and heavy:( So, I went back and brought home the Brooks!! They definitely feel different (in a good way), but I have yet to run in them. I’ll obv. let you know when I do. I’m secretly hoping the new shoe will do wonders for my running, as it’s only happening about once/week these days and I’d like to add in one more running day a week. There’s really nothing like that first run in a cushy new shoe.

Next up, the tote debate. I ordered this guy on Tuesday. I know, I know, everyone said to go with the J Crew straw tote, but here’s what happened: I went to J Crew last weekend and saw the straw guy in person. Though it did look cute on the arm, it felt really cheap to me and it seemed like something I could find for $40 less at Target. The straw was also really thick, making pretty big holes in the bag. There wasn’t any lining and I’m just not organized enough to put all my stuff in cute little makeup bags, so I feared I might lose something in the depths of the purse. I lose things often and I knew I was setting myself up for failure. Plus, who can resist $19 with free shipping? The bag really had me at hello.

And lastly, the top I’ve had my eye on since my pre-shopping trip back in February finally went on sale and I snagged the last one in my size in an even better color than the one I had originally seen.
