Saturday’s wedding was delightful.
The sun popped out just in the time for the 4 o’clock ceremony (thus the squinty eyes). I really didn’t think Houston was that hot, but I’m sure the men felt differently in their suits.
The church was beautiful and I loved the candles in the background. I also think it’s sweet when the whole family goes up to the altar for a blessing.
Mr. and Mrs. Monda!!
The gals during cocktail hour:
I had my usual whiskey sour before enjoying a few glasses of champagne.
Francois wanted to be on the blog – he’s sad here because he was only poured half of a beer:)
The reception was held at a country club and the main ballroom was just beautiful.
There were tea light candles in glass balls and hydrangeas hanging from the ceiling!
The food was top notch. I especially loved the little cup of sweet coconut soup with shrimp.
The main course was beef tenderloin and stuffed quail over mashed potatoes, spaghetti squash, and haricot vert in a wine merchant sauce. You never know with wedding food, but this entree was fabulous and I managed to clean my plate.
Wedding cake, it’s what I live for.
This one was great – almost a little lemon-y with thick, traditional buttercream. My piece was small, so I split a second one with Matt. I was hoping to get my hands on just one more piece before the end of the night, but all three of the waiters I asked weren’t able to find any:(
The bride’s dress was gorgeous!!!!
And there’s an up-close-and-personal shot of Oliver on the dance floor. The band was a blast – they were able to play lots of classics as well as new songs.
There were many sad goodbyes, but I’m so glad I was able to catch up with lots of good friends. Now, it’s back to Durham, job searching, unpacking, and real life.
