Greetings. How was your Wednesday?
I worked out before work this morning and it seems to be getting a bit better in terms of how I feel the rest of the day. And I guess feeling a little tired is much much better than the dread of having to exercise after work. Mental obstacles are much harder than physical ones. My work load always seems to pick up around Wednesday – today actually flew by and I felt a nice balance between being productive but not feeling overwhelmed. As discussed yesterday, I was also in a chipper mood because I had planned to attend a gathering after work. The Fuqua events just keep comin’! Matt’s section of about 70 people hosted a happy hour at our usual neighborhood bar – Alivia’s . There were a lot of new faces, but I love that I’m starting to recognize people and get past the where are you from, what do you do conversation.
I was surprisingly boring tonight and went with a Corona light. I figured I’ve been spending enough money and indulging quite frequently so a little Mexican lime water would be a good choice (ok, I actually really like Corona, esp. on the beach). Mid-sip, the crowd broke out in song, the heavens opened, and a gift was sent from the gods.
Big, fat birthday cake. And would you believe that standing all the way in the back I was passed the first piece? I mean, I know you’re supposed pass it along to the person behind you, but no one was behind me! So I ate it:)
And the best part? It was a quality cake – strawberry shortcake of sorts from the Mad Hatter, a local bakery that knows how to pack on the icing. Love.
Well friends, despite going out this evening, I’m actually home in time to relax, so I’m going to do some much needed sitting around until bed time. Ta ta.
