West Elm: Tastes & Trinkets

Hey Friends,

After another sleepless night, I crashed this afternoon. But I was quite proud of myself because I still managed 30 minutes on the elliptical. And then I felt better. Which was a good thing, because I wanted to attend the West Elm opening party at the mall. They had a private preview before the grand opening tomorrow. Given that Matt and I will be registering soon (!!), I dragged him there to get him into the shopping-for-the-home mindset. He got into it because there was a DJ and free Fullsteam (Durham local brewery) beer.

It was very fun though. The store was awesome and I saw many random decorative items (like this wooden star/ball) that I liked.

Oh, and this glass turtle.

I saw this apron that matches my sister’s nursery scheme perfectly, but Matt asked what an apron has to do with a baby and then mumbled something about breast feeding. So I didn’t buy it.

The apps were great,

and the desserts were a sweet surprise! This is a terrible picture of a Reese’s Pieces truffle btw.
