I had a very festive weekend! We stayed in on Friday and took it easy because Saturday was Matt’s company party at the Ritz!
We got all dressed up and I finally dug out the purse I bought on our last day in Italy.
I had kinda forgotten about it and it was still stuffed with Italian newspaper!
We joined some of Matt’s coworkers for a drink and then walked over to the Ritz. It looked beautiful!
They had an entire casino set up and we all got play money. The guys wanted to play craps, so I tried my best to learn the rules.
I did ok and even walked away with more chips than I started with! I was confused a lot of the time though, and after two bourbon and sours I just kinda pretended I knew what was going on:)
I worked up an appetiteand was so excited to see three different buffet lines – there was a fajita station, Texas bbq station, and a Mediterranean station. I hadn’t been expecting much from the food, but it was awesome!!!! Loved the lamb with hummus and pecans and the little pastrami sandwiches.
And a separate room for dessert!
We ended up going out to a local bar afterwards and we stayed out past 2, so by body wasn’t too happy with me this morning. We rallied with french toast and a trip to the gym though, and then ventured out in the 20 degree temps to get a Christmas tree. The cold front is actually making me so happy because I know this is just temporary and there’s not a New England winter ahead of me!
Home Depot was sold out, so we went to Lowe’s and found a cute 6 footer!
It was wet and icy from the storm this week, so I’m gonna let it dry off tonight – can’t wait to decorate it tomorrow though. In years past we’ve always travelled for Christmas and bought a tabletop tree, so I’m excited to have a full-size tree this year!
See ya.
