It’s hard to believe we’re almost to hump day in yet another week. Time is flying and I can’t keep up. Work has been super hectic, and I’m not getting my sleep – either I can’t fall asleep or Matt wakes me up when he comes home late. He was out of town this weekend, so I declared it a weekend of rest! I didn’t take a single picture with my camera, so Instagram shots will have to do:
I was especially tired on Friday after commuting 2 hours to go to a conference. The speakers weren’t that great, but I needed the credits to renew my school psychology certification, so I’m glad that I went. I stopped at Whole Foods on the way home, and this Dogfish Head sorghum beer caught my eye. I picked up a burger and tots as well and after a short movie, I was thrilled to get into bed with my book. Also, a mosquito has been living in my room for 6 days.
I was in bed for like 11 hours so I felt A-mazing on Saturday morning! I had a boat-load of energy at the gym and then came home to make a kale, quinoa, and egg bowl from the only things left in my fridge. I can’t get enough fermented salsa with eggs. I feel like my meals have become so gross sounding/looking lately and I have to laugh at how my tastes have changed over the past decade.
Saturday afternoon, I browsed some stores and then had friends over to drink rose on our balcony – it was a humid day, so the cold wine tasted nice. I’m ready for fall temps and red wine, but we’re still in the 90’s for a bit longer it seems. We walked to The Porch for dinner and enjoyed salmon and spicy margs with peach jam before a night cap at the pub.
Sunday was an egg pancake, recipe browsing, grocery shopping, and dinner with Matt. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing if I should live it up and fill my weekend with plans or do nothing and feel rejuvenated by Monday. It was a recharging weekend for sure, and I kind of want another one next weekend. I suddenly feel as if I’m approaching 30.

September 23, 2015 at 4:19 pmI actually think only one bite last week – he’s really tired and doesn’t have much energy to fly around, probably because he needs fuel!
