I feel like my hair has gotten so dark since giving birth, and highlights no longer last more than 6 weeks. Did this happen to anyone else? Maybe I’m just old and it has nothing to do with pregnancy.
Now that Emerson eats three meals a day plus snacks, I feel like we’re always out of food. I can’t imagine what it’d be like with a 16-year-old boy. I need to get back into preparing energy balls and snacks.
Does anyone do baby books anymore? I have a book, and have been wanting to fill it out since Emerson’s birthday, but haven’t done a thing about it. I figure it would be fun for her to have?
We’re heading to Matt’s five year MBA reunion next weekend, and then my ten year college reunion in June. How has it been that long?? Wouldn’t you just love to go back to college or high school knowing what you know now?

I’m sooo excited for NC weather next week!!! I will be breaking up with my down coat when I leave, and hope we stay separated when I return.
Lately, fried eggs have been grossing me out so much that I stopped eating them. That runny clear stuff is the worst. Weird, as I used to eat this most days for lunch.
I need spring clothing ideas! In Dallas, I’d go straight from winter wear to dresses and tanks. It’s too cold here for even short sleeves, so I need some bright, spring items that are still warm! A rain coat?

April 12, 2018 at 2:57 pmEmmie is so precious. Hope I’m able to meet her while you are in Hillsborough.
BTW, after Beth was born my hair went from medium brown to almost black. It was so unexpected. However, it gradually went back to medium brown. I’ve asked a hair dresser about this and he had no idea how or why it happened.
Strangely, this didn’t happen again after Gwen was born several years later. Go figure.
Have fun in NC!

April 12, 2018 at 3:42 pmI really love Emerson’s black and white dotted top! Where’s it from?

April 13, 2018 at 1:57 pmMy hair just keeps getting darker and darker. I stopped highlighting to save time (and money) about a year ago, but I miss those blond streaks! My youngest is 4.
My 6-year old boy now orders off the adult menu and eats as much as my husband. He’ll house an 8oz burger and fries no problem when we go out. He can eat a full-size burrito from Chipotle. He’s been known to finish a meal and ask for a second helping 🙂 Not sure how we’ll ever make enough to keep him full in 10 years…

April 17, 2018 at 1:17 pmHave you tried balayage instead of highlights? It’s not supposed to cause a growout line, so you can go longer between visits.

April 17, 2018 at 1:19 pmNo I haven’t – my previous hairdresser told me that it causes more damage because it is applied all the way down your head versus a tiny portion of your roots. Not sure if that’s true or not…

April 17, 2018 at 1:35 pmI’d never heard that, so I just looked it up and it doesn’t sound like balayage is more damaging than foils. Some websites say it’s actually less damaging. The salon I go to uses Olaplex, which actually helps prevent damage (they just mix it in with the bleach or developer). So, maybe you could ask for that if you’re concerned about damage.
