TJ’s Green Goddess Salad Dressing – I’m the world’s pickiest when it comes to store bought salad dressing. The only other one I’ve ever liked was this lemon dressing from Whole Foods. But I like this one!! And it’s cheap and pretty healthy, so this is a win.
Synergy 48oz kombucha – This isn’t really a new discovery, but more of a realization that this huge kombucha is only $8.99 and it’s a way better value that the small ones. I love drinking this every night during my 5:30 cocktail hour when I prep Emerson’s dinner.
Free Bread – Gluten free bread has gotten so much better over the past four years. Matt actually found this at Whole Foods, and I think it’s the best grocery store bread I’ve found and it’s more dense and grainy that the old rice, egg, and tapioca combo.
TJ’s Falafel Mix – This mix is super fast and produces a decent falafel in the oven. I love dipping these in hummus and crumbling them on salads.
Cauliflower Pretzels – Another Matt find from Whole Foods. I don’t think I’ve had a pretzel in years, and these are fun for snacking. They have a slight cauliflower taste, but nothing that is too reminiscent of vegetables.
Organic Wine – Ok, I know I’ve posted about this a few times before, but it’s seriously changing my life. I first ordered a couple of bottles from Wine.com when I started experimenting with low sulfate wine, but then I discovered a couple of Spanish bottles at my local wine store (all under $18 and delicious). I’ve learned that there are tons of winemakers (mostly in other countries – I’m so done with California) that might not be certified organic, but are committed to making sure their wine only contains grapes and no added chemicals. And most of them make lovely wine. I used to have horrible headaches and sinus pressure pretty much every weekend, and now I feel normal!!!!

July 30, 2018 at 6:15 pmQuestion: I have an almost 2 yo and I also do the 5:30 toddler dinner/prep our dinner/eat post bedtime. Do you plan to keep doing this? Some nights I am exhausted by it all. Thoughts?

July 31, 2018 at 3:55 pmI think I’ll keep doing it – most of the time, I just make one meal and reheat it for Matt and me, or make part of the meal for Em (for example, roast some sweet potatoes as part of Emerson’s dinner and then heat up veggie burgers to go with the fries for Matt and myself.) So, I usually don’t cook two completely different dinners. If I know it’s something Emerson won’t eat, then I do something easy for her dinner, so I’m not soo tired to cook again at 8 (or ask Matt to do it). If Matt isn’t coming home, I usually try to eat with her, and will probably do this more often as she gets older.

August 7, 2018 at 10:43 amI’m so interested about the organic wine! I have the same problem you had about the headaches and sinus pressure. So good to know! I will be looking for that wine at the grocery store next time I am there.
