Day in the Life: 25 Months

Life

It’s so weird to think in just 4 weeks, my life might look completely different!  Here’s a rainy Tuesday for ya:

7:30 – I wake up because I hear Matt’s shower. I throw on gym clothes and go into the kitchen to microwave my tea and oatmeal.

7:45 – Em is up.  Matt goes in to say hi, and then we walk Matt to the elevator. Emerson has a fit in the hall because she wants to go with him, so I usher her back to our apartment to get her some breakfast asap.

8:00 – Em and I eat our breakfasts, and then I get her dressed and ready while we read some books.

9:00 – We go down to the gym and I quickly do a weight lifting session. I’ve turned into one of those people who just puts on a hat, changes shirts, and goes about my day covered in sweat.

10:00 – We brave the cold, windy mist to go to Emerson’s practically preschool class. It’s her absolute favorite thing we do all week and she is giddy!  The art project they do is really cool – painting with shaving cream + glue that dries into a textured masterpiece.

11:30 – We arrive home from our class and I make lunch.  Em has leftover salmon and roasted veggies from last night plus kiwi.

12:00 – I straighten up while Em plays in her toy corner. We feed her doll lunch and say all the names of the animals on her ABC books.

12:30 – Books and nap!

12:45 – Shower + lunch. I had the same lunch as Emerson – leftover salmon with roasted carrots and cauliflower, but I added quinoa, arugula, and hummus.

1:30 – I work on all the moving documents (certificate of insurance, deciding on deductible, inventory,). I had to create an inventory of everything in our house using our list from the last move plus anything new we’ve acquired. I think I’m finally finished!! I scan and send everything over.

2:30 – Chat with friends via Google chat and text, eat the remnants of a Perfect Bar, find some warm boots for Emerson at DSW.

3:45 – Em wakes up. I give her a snack of some cookies I baked on Sunday. Aside: I forgot to add the coconut sugar and they are weird and savory, but we are still eating them!

4:15 – Our neighbor down the hall comes over to play!

5:00 – We change locations and head over to their apartment. My neighbor is making dinner and offers food to Emerson as well.  I get out of cooking and she eats everything.  Wooohooo!

6:00 – I pry Emerson away for bath time and make myself a snack plate with some cheese, crackers, and hummus. Plus, a big glass of cranberry kombucha.

6:45 – I get Em all ready for bed. She’s hungry again, so she has yogurt. I throw leftovers in a bowl in preparation for my own dinner.

7:15 – Time for sleep sack and books. I sing Rudolph the Red Noosed Reindeer to Emerson for the first time and she’s obsessed.

7:30 – I put Em down and microwave this random bowl of leftover chicken sausage and quinoa for myself since Matt isn’t coming home for dinner.

8:00 – We’re thinking of getting Em a play kitchen for Christmas so I do some research and get sucked into some awesome blog posts about how to remodel the Ikea kitchen into something gorgeous (I’m not crafty and would probably ruin it, so I don’t think this is a good option for me:))

9:00 – Matt’s home and we hang out, straighten up the kitchen, & get ready for bed.

10:15 – Time for reading in bed (the best!)  I just started soccer player Abby Wambach’s memoir and I’m excited to get into it!

My daughter is a month younger and has never slept this much a day in her life (even as a newborn…they were actually worried her lack of sleep may effect her development, but she’sahead in all areas so they just decided she’s not a good sleeper). Very jealous over here.

Wow – that’s crazy that she didn’t sleep even as a newborn!

Lisa – same here! Ours sleeps from about 8:30pm – 6am, and a solid 2hr nap from noon-2pm (she’s going to be 3 next month). Even as a newborn, always an awful sleeper.

Love reading your Day In A Life posts! My daughter is a couple months older then Emerson and our days look very similar (except about a month ago she started protesting naps more so hoping that’s a phase!) curious what yogurt you give Emerson always looking for new ones! Thanks!

So sorry to hear about the naps! I give her plain Fage greek yogurt! I usually stir in almond butter or peanut butter and add fruit and she LOVES it.

That’s a huge deal! Em never slept until 7:30 or 8am until these past few months. It’s heavenly.
