Hello!
Moving logistics have taken over my life! If you don’t hear from me much over the next couple of weeks, you’ll know why.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving break! I took Emerson to her Practically Preschool class, and then she got to skip her nap so that we could get on the subway to go to Penn Station. It was a little frantic at the station, but we used the red cap service in order to board the train early. Once we were settled, it was fabulous! Wish we could always travel by train!
Emerson had such a blast at Matt’s parents house – she stayed busy every minute of her trip playing with beanie babies, chasing Chelsea’s dog, playing with golf/tennis/soccer balls, and getting lots of attention. Matt and I snuck out to Carmax out on Wednesday to look at cars, but I’m not sure we made much progress on our decision.
Thursday was super relaxing. I don’t even know what we did other than go for a very chilly run and enjoy lots of adult beverages in front of the tv:) We had bourbon and bacon-wrapped dates to start and all the usual suspects for the main event. Pie is always the highlight for me! We had pumpkin and chocolate bourbon.
On Friday, I ordered some of our appliances and was happy to save a bit of money with BF sales. We went into Annapolis for dinner, and had the most amazing experience at Preserve. The drinks were perfect (they had organic wine by the glass!), the service was outstanding, and everything we ordered was unique and delicious. Also, Emerson was perfectly behaved (she’s had a harder time in restaurants lately).
We headed home on Saturday, and I was so glad we didn’t have to drive in the pouring rain. We got home just in time for Thai food and bedtime, and it was nice to have all day on Sunday to get organized for the week.
Now I’m feeling really overwhelmed with our to-do list, but I know we’ll manage. It’s weird how moving companies give you such a large delivery spread – I’m finding it hard to figure out details and schedule things without knowing when we are moving in. I just want to know the date so I can schedule appliances, internet, send some Target staples, etc. The good news is, everything is cheaper in the south. I was thrilled to cancel our $80/month internet here and sign up for a $40/month down there. Anyway, I’m feeling super stressed, but the really good/excited kind! Talk soon.
