I guess we are really in the dog days of summer? This week looks like a hot one – it’s really not that much cooler than Dallas here, and with the added humidity, I’m basically not going outside right now. Good thing we had tons to do around the house this weekend, because we were inside for most of it!
We checked soo many things off the to-do list, including mulching our front beds (we need like 2 more bags!), hanging curtains after weeks of searching for the right color/style, building a hammock I got Matt for his birthday, and cleaning our front porch!
I also sat down to replace the knobs on our changing table, but the new ones I ordered from Target didn’t quite work:( Gosh, there are so many great knob options out there – most are kinda pricey though for what I thought would be an inexpensive project. I ordered a new set from Home Depot, so we shall see if they work/I like them.
In between working on our to-do list, Matt took Emerson out on a run one day and to The Little Gym another day. She loves helping out around the house, but got a little possessive over the tools:)
We also did a lot of eating this weekend – we shared a burger + fries + salad at Moo & Brew Friday, and then ordered Mexican food from Cantina 1511 on Saturday night. I LOVED what we got from Cantina (adobo salmon + brisket enchiladas + guac) and we let Em watch her first Disney movie while we ate in front of the TV. Movie night might have to be our new Saturday tradition once baby arrives.
I was feeling kinda sick/nauseous Sunday morning, but couldn’t cancel the prenatal yoga I signed up for. The good thing about being yoga is that it’s totally acceptable to just lay there, so I went anyway and it made me feel so much better! I was so committed to hot yoga every other week or so before getting pregnant, but just haven’t wanted to go to the prenatal classes. I really need to get back into it because my body + mind are definitely changed afterwards.
We had a sitter on Sunday night so I could take Matt out for a proper birthday dinner. I chose Angeline’s just because he loves Italian and it exceeded all expectations. It was so gluten-free friendly, and I ended up getting grilled bread to go with the complimentary olive tapenade they bring.
This was delightful because I also used the bread with the whipped ricotta and mussels we ordered. Plus, we got gf pasta (they have pizza too). The vegetables we ordered for sides were awesome, and they have fancy mocktails on the menu!!
We were so full after dinner that we could barely walk to the theater where we had tickets to see Hello Dolly. It was not a good idea to eat so much with this bump + limited stomach before a show because I was uncomfortable in the tiny chair:)
The performance was awesome though! t I loved the dancing, costumes, and humor even though the plot was a little weird.
And that was our weekend. I feel feeling productive + relaxing at the same time!
