Oxo Tot Travel Potty

I don’t think we could have made it through potty training/summer time without this!  We’ve used it at the park, on the beach, in the trunk of the car, when there’s a line at the pool bathroom (or when Emerson wouldn’t agree to get out of the pool to go to the big potty), and at rest stops to avoid gross gas stations on road trips. It is a lifesaver!!

Also, Flushable Wipes

Game changer for #2 in the big potty because you can flush them:)

Victoria Shoes

I found these a local baby store and they are awesome! Easy to put on, seem to be comfortable, and cute enough to wear with dresses.

Step Stool (two step)

This is kind of a duh product, but it’s really helped Emerson become more independent with using the bathroom.  I’ve also been loving the two step stool because it’s tall enough for her to stand at the kitchen counter with me for baking and food prep.

Puddle Jumper

This has been a game-changer this summer.  We’ve tried some other flotation devices, but this one is the most supportive while still allowing Emerson to ‘swim’ on her own. Just a note that although it’s certified by the coast guard or something like that, it is NOT a replacement for a life jacket on a boat.

Hooded Beach Poncho (similar – I found ours at HomeGoods)

I’ve tried coverups for Em in the past and they are annoying to get on (plus you still need a towel). I’ve loved using a towel poncho this summer because I can dry Emerson off and then put it on easily (and quickly) over a wet bathing suit or even take the suit off and just give her a pair of underwear/shorts underneath.

VOBOT Bunny Clock

Ok, so this is something I thought was really cool but Emerson has now rejected. I got it because it is both an ‘ok to wake’ clock and a white noise machine, and I figured we’d give the new baby Emerson’s owl white noise machine.  She was so excited when it arrived and was open to using it that first night.  I set the bunny ears to red for overnight, and then had them gradually change to pink and then green when it was ok to wake up/yell for me.  Once the ears turned green, I also set a bird chirping noise to come on.  When I went in to check on her around 10pm that night the white noise was kind of creepy paired with the red lights and I thought to myself that it made for a scary vibe.  As soon as I got Em up the next morning, she told me the chirping birds were scary and she didn’t like the clock, and by the following night she was begging for her owl white noise and refusing to use the bunny.  I bet she’d probably warm up to it (and I can change the colors or birds, but not the version of white noise), but I was too tired to worry about it, and shipped it right back to Amazon. It also works as an Alexa speaker too. Cool concept though, right?  Anyone have a white noise machine they recommend for baby or should I just get another Skip Hop owl?

Any toddler must-haves you all would recommend?

I have the Hatch Baby Rest machine, which is night light/sound machine/time to wake clock. They now have a Rest+ that is also an audio monitor, and Alexa-enabled. (I’m almost bummed I don’t really have an excuse to get the updated one – my girl is about a month younger than Emerson, so we’re almost past the need for a monitor at all.) Anyway, I love everything about the Hatch…https://www.hatchbaby.com/

That’s the other one I was debating. I guess I’m now hesitant to spend so much if she’s just going to want her owl. But maybe I should get that for new baby?

We have ended up with two hatches and love them for a 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old.

The Oxo potty is amazing. Google “flushable wipes clog” and you will stop using them immediately.

Agree about getting rid of flushable wipes as we just had a $$$$$ plumber bill where these were the cause.

We adore our hatch baby rest. Still using it with our six year old . And yes—have heard horror stories from friends about the flushable wipes and clogs. The mayor of nyc came out and made a public statement, pleading with people to stop using them bc it was causing such havoc on nyc sewers

The dohm sound machine works for me and everyone I know down in Brooklyn – so it’s got a lot of street noise competition! It’s not fancy but it makes great white noise. It’s been indispensable.

Seconding what others have said-flushable wipes are not flushable!
