-We’re finally converting Em’s crib to a toddler bed and I’m nervous – how many times will she run out of her room during bedtime before she actually sleeps?
-How is Avery 5 months old? She’s starting to scoot herself around the rug and I’m surprised when she’s moved so much. Starting solids soon!
-I’m simultaneously getting very nervous and very excited for the election. And Charlotte is hosting the RNC:)
-We’ve had so much warm weather and have been taking more evening walks. It’s hard getting out the door but it’s so great for everyone once we get out there.
-If only people took flu prevention as seriously as we are taking Coronavirus prevention (fingers cross it stays contained!).
-We had shiplap and tile add to our fireplace and it looks so.much.better! I think it really helped add some interest to our white living room. I also ordered a big, blue ottoman, so I’m excited that this room is looking more finished.
-I made these red curry meatballs a few weeks ago, and I’m making them again for my parents because they are SO good!
-Matt and I are heading on a weekend getaway tomorrow (with Avery) and I’m pretty excited. Before I leave, I’m tuning into the Beautycounter annual conference that’s being streamed, and I’ll be curious to hear what new products might be coming!

March 5, 2020 at 6:11 pmWe just converted my 3.5 year olds crib to a toddler bed and so far so good. I talked about it for months in advance and always emphasized that she does not come out of it. I made her a Super Sleeper chart and she gets to put a sticker on it every morning when she stays in bed. I have a prize box that she can choose something small from at the end of each week that she fills up (I have some glow sticks and things like that in there). When she fills up a whole month, she gets the big toy she’s been asking for (a cash register). I’m not sure what I’ll do when a month is up, but I’m hopeful that by then the habit of staying in bed sticks. It’s been 5 nights and she has yet to attempt to get out. I see her sometimes sitting on the edge of her bed, but if I peak in she’ll say “See, my feet aren’t touching the ground.” So stinking cute! She even calls for me in the morning just like when she was in her crib. Good luck to you! I wish you the same success.

March 5, 2020 at 8:30 pmMoved my daughter to a bed when she was 2 and a few months. I put a lock on the outside of her door so she couldn’t get out, and a potty in her room in case she needed to use the bathroom. It worked well for us. Now she’s 4 and we don’t lock the door anymore and she rarely gets out of bed – and the rare times she does I don’t mind so much since she’s pretty self sufficient and much obviously safer than when she was two.

March 6, 2020 at 10:06 amWe moved our daughter out of her crib at 3.5 and still today at nearly 4.5 she doesn’t get out of her bed. She just calls for us like she was in her crib. I think waiting til she was a little older really helped with this. Good luck!

March 7, 2020 at 8:14 amTry an ok to wake clock. We used one with both kids and they are now 5 and 7 and we still use them. They only get up to go to the bathroom, and then right back to bed until their light turns green.

March 9, 2020 at 11:35 amwhen our kids transitioned to toddler beds, we gated their doorways, so even if they got out of bed, they couldn’t get out of the room, but we didn’t need to shut their doors. it worked awesomely for all three of my kids.

March 10, 2020 at 11:27 amWe transitioned our daughter from her crib to a full bed when she was three. The bed is on the floor so she doesn’t have far to go if she falls. It took her a couple weeks to realize she could leave the bed in the mornings. Once she figured it out she started coming into our room in the mornings. It wasn’t too bad, she was allowed to play quietly in her room until her Hatch light comes on at 6:45. Works great!
