Happy week three of quarantine 2020. I hope you guys are hanging in there.
The first two weeks were hard, and I’ve been unsure of what to post and write as my feelings have been all over the place. I’m trying so hard to maintain a sense of normalcy and be positive, but things are definitely not normal. And I sure don’t feel very positive when I think about all the people who are sick, caring for the sick, struggling financially, or just having a hard time with the pandemic in general. And then there’s all the little things like trying to keep a 3 year old and 5 month old quiet when I know Matt has an important work call or not having much of a break with no more preschool or play dates.
Knowing that I’m allowed to feel frustrated while also keeping things in perspective is helpful, and there truly are so many #silverlinings. We’ve been spending so much time outside, fitting in lots of treats & TV that we might not normally have during the week, and enjoying that Matt can sometimes join us for a mid-day walk or take a 5PM break to play in the yard. Emerson misses her friends and stands out in the yard hoping another kid will come by so she can yell to him/her, but is also loving spending a lot of time with mom. Her toddler bed has been great, as she’s loving the independence and opts to read and play in her room on days that she doesn’t nap. We’re not learning any new languages, streaming the hottest workouts, or reinventing preschool, but we’re doing just fine!
Oh, and this smile gets me every time:
Car washing
Date night from The Stanley
‘Hiking’ on a local trail
Homemade peanut butter cups
An untouched bed of clover
PS: Currently watching Big Little Lies, Tiger King, and Cheer and would recommend all three!!
PSS: 10% sitewside sale ends tomorrow!
XOXO

April 1, 2020 at 10:13 pmTiger King was really interesting. So many twists, and sadness when reflecting that these are people’s real lives. Just started YOU. Hang in there … and even though yes, some people have it worse (someone always will), you’re completely allowed to feel miserable, down, discouraged, panicked … and to share what you’re feeling!
