Thoughts from a Thursday

Thursday Thoughts

-I guess my summer look is going to be long, ombre hair. At least I’ve found someone to paint my toes:)

-Emerson and I have started watching our shopper live on Instacart and cheering when we secure something good. “We got eggs!!! We got chocolate chips! Woohoo.” (THANK YOU SHOPPERS!)

-I watched one of those videos of someone building their own pool and seriously considered if it was something we could do (sadly, no).

-Avery is 6 months old tomorrow. Brb, crying!!!

-Nothing like having your toddler yell “Mom, the poop’s out” from the guest room bathroom where Matt is working right after yelling “Dad’s talking to someone named Mark.” (Matt’s boss).

-Have chocolate chips + peanut butter + mini cupcake liners?  Make these! I didn’t sweeten the peanut butter  (actually put some salt on top) and they were still great!

-Are those rumors about no smog in LA and the clear Venice canals true?  We’ve had some of the most beautiful blue skies I can ever remember these past few weeks.

Something I hadn’t thought about before someone pointed it out to me yesterday was that healthy, low-risk people using services like Instacart reduced their availability for people at higher risk. Not saying you shouldn’t use it! You might very well be immunocompromised, or have other reasons to use it. I just hadn’t thought about it like that and realized that even though I’d been tempted to order groceries that way, I’m going to just try to go as little as possible (every 2 weeks, if not longer) and make do with what we have and be very cautious when I venture into the store. Something to think about, at least – seriously not trying to judge at all, just sharing!

Thanks for mentioning – I actually have thought about this a bit. Instacart seems to be widely available in about 10 stores with multiple locations, so I’m hoping anyone who is trying to use it can – I could be way wrong about this though? I would assume that there would be no time slots available if the demand exceeded the availability? We’ve been doing the curbside pickup, so hopefully people who don’t have cars or can’t drive can get the delivery slots.

Just some things to consider. I know we are all being put in situations we never though we would be in.
    Peace
