Happy September! We just returned from a lovely week at Folly Beach. Although the week was packed with the usual melt-downs, prepping kid meals + constant cleaning, and early morning wake-ups, we had moments of relaxation:)
It was Avery’s first time really getting to play on the beach and in the water and she LOVED it. She’s not scared of much and would fearlessly crawl right into the surf. And Emerson enjoying seeing Avery experience the beach.
It was also wonderful to get to spend some alone time with Emerson down on the beach during Avery’s naps.
We brought an inflatable pool for the porch that was perfect for Avery to play in since it was a bit hard to keep her contained on the beach.
I haven’t been to an SC beach in a while and it was huge and had hard-packed sand perfect for the BOB stroller. We took walks with beverages every night before dinner.
Emerson didn’t nap at all, but did an afternoon quiet time to recharge and get a break from the sun. Given how tired the girls were, we put them down at 7 every night and then the party began. Ha. Not really, but we enjoyed quiet date nights on the porch with either takeout or the Greenchef dinners we ordered for the week. The view from the porch was better than any oceanfront restaurant!
We also had dessert (I brought a few goodies from our freezer) and watched Selling Sunset every night. I’m sad it’s over!
We did three nights of takeout and two lunches – the food was excellent: Lowlife Bar (the BEST waffle fries), Taco Boy, Jack of Cups, and Black Magic Cafe.
And then we packed up and headed home. It was a slight bummer to be confined to the house, but honestly, I doubt we would have done much even without a pandemic. The girls are at hard ages for restaurants and it was super relaxing to just hang out on the beach and not worry about any plans. Plus, the pandemic has really helped to shift my perspective and I so appreciate the little things and the family time!
Hope you all have a nice Labor Day. Come stop by my pop-up:)
