Anyone have wallpaper at home? After growing up in a historic house with wallpaper from the 70’s (60’s?), I never thought I’d want it in my own home. But, it’s very trendy these days, and I’ve gotten into the idea of an elegant wallpaper + wainscoting in our dining area. This area is so open though, and Matt and I are having a hard time finding one we love and can commit too. We ordered a ton of samples, and when I saw this gorgeous Palmetto wallpaper from Serena and Lily, I knew it would be perfect in our downstairs bathroom. I also thought it would be safer to start with an enclosed bathroom and see how we like it before doing an open dining room.
As you can see, the bathroom is bright white and very plain. It’s the only bathroom on our first floor and connects with our guest room/Matt’s office, so we use it a lot!
Before + After!
The process took one whole day, and the only downside is that a some clear paste got on our floors and cabinets and we’ve had to scrub everything down to get that sticky feeling to go away (I guess the person should have put something down?). After seeing what goes into hanging the paper, I don’t think I’d ever attempt to do it myself…
I’m definitely hooked. I have a floral paper picked out for an accent wall in Emerson’s room once we get her a big bed. And I’m eyeing some grasscloth for an accent wall behind our TV!
Every time I walk by and get a glimpse into the bathroom, it makes me happy:)
