Where do I begin? We had the most luxurious weekend – sleeping in, reading by the pool, doing absolutely no cooking/cleaning/bedtime duties! I got the longest consecutive hours of sleep since Emerson was born and it was the longest I’ve been away from her – the other 3 times I’ve left for very short trips I was more nervous, but this time felt different. She finally understands that we come back when we leave and she is able to articulate…

I’m nesting like crazy over here. It’s more intense this time around because: We haven’t been in our house that long and there are still a bunch of things I want to work on Emerson was in camp for 3 weeks this summer and I felt like I had to accomplish all.the.things during those 3 weeks. I want to spend some good quality one-on-one time with her in August rather than be running to Homegoods and such. Having one baby…
Oxo Tot Travel Potty I don’t think we could have made it through potty training/summer time without this! We’ve used it at the park, on the beach, in the trunk of the car, when there’s a line at the pool bathroom (or when Emerson wouldn’t agree to get out of the pool to go to the big potty), and at rest stops to avoid gross gas stations on road trips. It is a lifesaver!! #redneckportapotty Also, Flushable Wipes Game changer…
We planned a little mountain escape with Matt’s parents this weekend in Wintergreen, VA. We rented a condo through Airbnb and made the 4.5 hour drive on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first car trip of the summer where we started driving during Emerson’s nap and she actually fell asleep. It was only an hour, but was so nice! We were thrilled to arrive in Wintergreen and find chilly mountain air. We were all cold sitting out on the balcony…
If you’ve been following along since we moved into our house, you know that our yard has been somewhat of a headache! When we came down to Charlotte to see the house, it had beautiful green sod and we fell in love with the yard. But when we arrived in December, we found a wet mud pit for a yard. The combination of no one taking care of the sod while it sat on the market, lack of gutters, and…
I guess we are really in the dog days of summer? This week looks like a hot one – it’s really not that much cooler than Dallas here, and with the added humidity, I’m basically not going outside right now. Good thing we had tons to do around the house this weekend, because we were inside for most of it! We checked soo many things off the to-do list, including mulching our front beds (we need like 2 more bags!),…
Yesterday’s weather got me so excited for fall. It’s one of the best times to travel because the weather is picture perfect almost anywhere. We obviously won’t be leaveing Charlotte this fall, but these are a few places I’d love to visit in Autumn. Hilton Head Island, SC I mentioned in my trip recap that we’d love to go back to Hilton Head when the temperatures are cooler and the crowds have died down. The beaches are giant and…
We are back from Hilton Head and I’m ready for a productive week at home. Emerson had her first day of camp today, and although she was very nervous at drop-off, she was squealing with excitement when I picked her up. After two weeks of back to back travel, I was so thankful for some time at home to get my life together. I’m also looking forward to some healthy eating, as there’s not much room in my stomach these…
Hello out there. We are home from Bald Head and have a short week packed with the chiropractor, swimming lessons, my gestational diabetes test, getting unpacked and re-packed, and Matt’s birthday! Side note: I just noticed all the pictures from my BHI post were sideways – how embarrassing! This happened once before when I blogged from my iPad and it’s so annoying because they don’t appear that way in the preview. Anyway, we are heading to Hilton Head for the…
