I’d say these are loose goals – I don’t like putting too much pressure on myself to change, but I certainly welcome January as a time to reflect and make improvements. -Invest in friendships new and old – important for my sanity right now. -Spend some time thinking about future career goals and possibilities. -Write more blog posts – I’ve got the time now, so why not? I installed a new theme to make things look a bit more modern…

Hope those of you who celebrate Christmas had a lovely time. We were down in my hometown of Hillsborough, NC visiting family and friends. My parents actually bought a new house for retirement and this was our first time staying there! I’ll leave you with a few highlights from our trip. A solo run on the very cool River Walk in Hillsborough. I’m not much of a runner outside of quick jaunts with the BOB, but this trail left me…
Happy holidays! Christmas crept up on me this year. Matt and I wanted to explore Manhattan a bit because everyone recommended checking out the Christmas markets and decor. We kind of blew it with timing though as we waited until the last Saturday before Christmas – rookie mistake. Emerson seemed nervous on the subway and held on to her stroller:) We made our way to Rockefeller center to see the tree, and quickly realized that the crowds were miserable, especially…
– I took Emerson to the local ‘Cat Cafe’ as a fun indoor activity, and there were 28 (!) cats lounging in one room. I’ve never seen someone get so excited. But I was a little worried about the cats as Emerson squealed and charged towards them. I bet they were all rolling their eyes. -Speaking of cats, don’t you love this label? I got a shipment from Winc (<–referral link) and enjoyed this red even more after my visit…
Hey y’all, So sorry for the lack of posts. Thanks for your patience as I get my life together. We spent 10 days at my parents house on Bald Head before we arrived in Brooklyn. It was a much-needed rest after the craziness of the fall and moving out of our house. I absolutely loved being away from cars and having nothing but a grocery trip on the agenda each day. I fall more in love with the island…
Hello from Bald Head Island! Matt and I are enjoying some time with my family and then Matt’s family while we wait for our moving truck to make its way across the country. It’s weird being homeless and I’m definitely feeling anxious to get settled. We had a busy week before we left – cleaning, selling furniture, and finalizing an offer on our house! We tried to see as many friends as possible, and I started to get really sad…
Hello! I’ve owed you an update for a while, but life has been crazy. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. My mom and Matt’s mom left last Monday, my birthday was Wednesday, Emerson came down with the stomach bug on Thursday, our house hit the market Friday and we had an open house on Saturday, we searched for apartments in NYC Saturday-Monday, Matt finished his last day of work on Wednesday, and Emerson has a fever today. Whew!…
I had to work on Thursday, but my mom was able to be at home to meet the carpet cleaners and mosquito guy so that my house was ready for the birthday party (and the market…). Work days always fly by, but I tried to stop and think about my labor and visited Emerson in the nursery
