Thoughts from a Thursday

Thursday Thoughts

How goes it out there? -I cannot believe this babe will be one next week!!! She is testing all the limits over here and wants to climb everything!! -We’re on a real home improvement kick over here (isn’t everyone?) and I’m going down the rabbit hole of paint colors for the interior. Our house is currently painted Pure White, and while I always thought I’d leave it as is, I think we may need a less intense white or a…

Day in the Life

Kids Life

Friday morning started with an early wakeup with this cutie who is getting two bottom teeth. She finally gave up her 5:00/6:00AM feeding/wakeup, in July but began waking up early again over the past ten days with the teething. She started crying at 5:30 and we let her cry it out for about 15 minutes and she went back to sleep. It must have woken up Emerson though, because we heard her up and playing in her room. Needless to…

Folly Beach Week

Travel

Happy September! We just returned from a lovely week at Folly Beach. Although the week was packed with the usual melt-downs, prepping kid meals + constant cleaning, and early morning wake-ups, we had moments of relaxation:) It was Avery’s first time really getting to play on the beach and in the water and she LOVED it. She’s not scared of much and would fearlessly crawl right into the surf. And Emerson enjoying seeing Avery experience the beach. It was also…

Skincare & Beauty

Beautycounter has launched so many new products this year. Here’s a roundup and reviews of the new products I’ve tried. The Clean Deo [the launch of the deodorant has been delayed bc of some shipping issues (basically, it wasn’t holding up well in the heat). Life Thursday Thoughts

-I LOVED reading your comments on my last post!! Thank you!! -Em had her first appointment since the pandemic started and was definitely a bit nervous. It’s so strange going out into the world now because it’s so rare. We had a good time being out just the two of us! -We are heading to the beach soon! We originally planned to go to Jeckyll Island as our big summer trip – although we cancelled our plans to stay at…

10 Years of Blogging!

Life The Working World Twenties

I started my blog on this day in 2010! I just went back and read my first post (and kinda rolled my eyes, but those life ponderings felt SO important at the time:)) Here it is with some parts removed: Welcome to my very first post!! I hope to have an ‘About Me’ page soon, but in the meantime, I’ll give you the rundown…. [After graduation], I was very very sad to have to leave the college community and enter…

Nordstrom Sale Finds

Finds Shopping

I haven’t been too big on the Nordstrom sale in the past because I generally don’t much on clothes all at once.  But, when we were shopping for baby gear last summer, I realized there is so much more than just clothes on sale!   Hydroflask – I’m snagging this for myself. I’ve debated buying a hydroflask for a while, and you usually have to buy the straw top separately. So, it’s a good deal! Ezpz set –  We used…

Thoughts from a Thursday

Thursday Thoughts

How are you all?  Lots of school decisions driving you crazy?  It seems like the last few weeks have been so hard mentally. I can’t believe I once thought this would be resolved with an 8 week lockdown:( -Avery FINALLY dropped the 5:00AM (knock on wood) feeding so I am a brand new person.  I was not able to perform very well as a mom without feeling rested, and quality sleep is a game-changer. -Like most people, I want to…

Dining Room + Entry Inspiration

Home Improvement

When we found our house, we loved that it was a blank slate.  But decorating and interior design take a lot of research, time, and money!   We’ve been in our house 1.5 years, and are just starting to think about some updates to the walls. Here’s the entryway – it’s nice that’s open and flows right into the dining area and kitchen, but it’s also a waste of space. We have a nice big closet, so don’t really need…
