Our trip to New York felt so fast because we packed a ton into 2 days! We were in the city for the wedding of two of my Davidson friends – they fell in love when we studied abroad in Cambridge! We arrived Friday afternoon, and after walking around for a couple of hours while Matt worked, we headed to Chelsea to meet friends at Buddakan – this has been on my list for a while because I love fusion…

Two of our good friends were in town visiting family this weekend, so we spent Saturday night on the town! Matt and I made a pizza and just took it easy on Friday night in preparation. I haven’t felt that rested on a Saturday morning in a long time! When our friends Lauren and Evan arrived, we immediately took them to our favorite taco joint, Urban Taco! I ordered my usual tacos and we also got the avocado ceviche, which…
-It’s almost August guys and the triple digits are here! It’s so cold inside Equinox that I actually love it when I step outside. Can you believe I only have two more weeks there!? -I’ve started putting some ideas together and meeting with folks at my new school, and I’m getting so anxious to get started! -I’m back into the swing of healthy eating, and loving summer fruits, but I still feel like I’m carrying around 5 lbs of Turkey…
Hello and happy Monday! We had a big weekend over here because we celebrated Matt’s 30th with all of our Dallas friends. I made a big spread of food including both new and old recipes. I made salami chips which were a hit – dipped in spicy hummus, they were amazing! Of course, after our trip to Turkey, I had to have feta and olives – the best combo ever. I also tried a new recipe for caribbean shrimp –…
Hello! I’ll spare you the details of my low-key weekend at home and share the last of my Turkey pictures! After our time in Istanbul, we traveled to the beach town of Bodrum along the Aegean coast. I was really, really excited about this part of the trip, but after the whirlwind of the city, I hadn’t thought much about it. I think Matt and I were both blown away when we arrived and saw how ridiculously beautiful it was.…
The food in Turkey was ridiculously good. And oh so fresh! There were markets with beautiful fruit. I had sooo many cherries at breakfast every morning. Given that we were near the water, there was also wonderful local seafood and we enjoyed seabass 4-5 times during the trip. The Turks start their meals with mezes, small dishes or snacks that are usually served cold. I was obsessed! The only problem was that we would often order a couple and eat…
Hello from home sweet home! We had a lovely journey to Turkey and I have so much to share. Our first stop was Istanbul, and we spent four nights at the Hotel Amira in the old town. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel as the service was fantastic and the staff helped us navigate the overwhelming city. The breakfast was also wonderful and our room was nice. There was also a roof top deck, which was great for relaxing in…
…not the bird, the country! We’re en route to Istanbul for some history, relaxation, and European culture. I can’t wait to see the architecture and hopefully step onto the continent of Asia for the first time!!! We planned the trip back in January, and since we’ll be celebrating Matt’s 30th birthday, he got to pick the destination. We fell in love with Greece last year, and figured Turkey’s got to be the next best thing:) In addition to Istanbul, we’re…
We had a very nice weekend over here! We didn’t do a whole lot, but we did get to hang out with friends both Friday and Saturday nights. And meet a one month old baby! Friday, one of Matt’s coworkers was promoted, so we went to a happy hour celebration at the W Hotel, complete with champagne! We had planned on cooking in on Friday, but time got away from us at the party and we ending up eating bar…
