Shower Scenes

Uncategorized

Guys, I had the most wonderful weekend! My bridal shower was so lovely I nearly cried. It was hosted by three of my mom’s close friends, who have watched me grow up:) They prepared a beautiful spread of food, sangria, and pear punch! Everything was delicious, but I think these bacon-wrapped pears stole my heart. Although everyone knows cake is my true love. Strawberry in the middle! I think my favorite part of the shower was a newly-wed game that…

This Week

Uncategorized

I was so sorry to hear the news from Texas today. It’s been such a sad week for so many people – a reminder of how many things we all have to be grateful for. For one, spring is in full bloom! The weather has been so perfect lately and NC is just gorgeous this time of year. I’m definitely getting a bit sad to leave this awesome place! Now that the weather is warmer, I’ve been craving lighter meals…

Thoughts from a Tuesday

Life

Why is pretty much my only thought. I took this picture from the Mass Ave bridge in Boston. It used to be my blog header (and still kinda is) because it reminds me that after every sunset there’s a sunrise and a brand new day. Hope. Bostonians are wicked strong. Yesterday was horrific, and my heart goes out to all those who were hurt, killed, scared, or simply didn’t get to finish something they worked so hard for.…

Never Too Late to Celebrate

Durham Restaurants

The highlight of my weekend was definitely a little engagement party we had at Six Plates wine bar on Thursday!! A couple of of friends got together and hosted and it was so sweet! I don’t think anyone has ever planned a party for me and it just meant so much to have all our friends gather together to celebrate. Of course, since it was at a wine bar, there was wine! Its so fun being able to choose wines…

Taste of Summer

Cooking

Our appetites are back over here, which called for some cooking! I had picked up some cajun catfish at Whole Foods, but Matt and I were just not feeling the idea of fish the past couple of days. Whenever I’m sick and lose my appetite, it always makes me realize how much my day revolves around food. Life is so boring when things don’t taste good. The cajan catfish was great, one of the better frozen fish dinners I’ve bought!…

Exploring Dallas

Travel

Howdy, Sorry for being MIA – Matt and I got hit with a bug as soon as we got home from Dallas. I made it to work for a good 20 minutes on Monday before driving home and getting in bed, where I couldn’t move for 12 hours. Weird. When I woke up this morning and felt normal, I was in the best mood of my life because I was so happy it was over. Anyway, thanks for your sweet…

Wedding Invites!

Twenties Wedding

All invites are out, so here they are! I loved how they turned out, although I can’t say addressing them was my favorite part of wedding planning:) I used Southern Fete Creative, and had them design a custom invitation based on the Garden Suite on their website. Early on, I decided to have custom napkins made through Etsy, and have been using the swatch of fabric as inspiration for a bunch of wedding items. I would highly recommend Southern Fete…

Texan Confessions

Life Travel

I’ve been keeping something from you. But now that my employer is in the know about next year, I can officially share that Matt and I will be migrating across the country to the Lone Star state…. Source Don’t ya love how they make it look like Dallas is on the water:) We’re moving to Dallas, TX this summer!! Whew. Feels good to share. I’m obviously very excited, but I will have to admit that it took me a minute…

Amazing Restaurants

Happy Easter!! I thought I was beating Matt’s cold, but it has gotten the best of me today:( I wasn’t able to go to church or brunch, but my parents were nice enough to order us a pizza and come over for the Duke game. I really thought I was on the up-and-up Saturday, and attempted a date night. I figured beer is the best medicine (only in the moment…) Matt and I stopped at Milltown in Chapel Hill and…
