I’ve received quite a few requests to write this post. Sadly, a lot of other people are struggling with digestion issues these days, and I’ve gotten a bunch of questions as to why and how I discovered that gluten upset my stomach. Let’s rewind back to 2008, when I was still in college. At some point during my junior or senior year, I started having crazy episodes of burping – like forceful hiccup burps that would scare people away. My…

We had a wonderful Christmas back in my hometown of Hillsborough!! It was both exhausting and relaxing. Exhausting because being away from home these days is tiring and the girls didn’t sleep all that well, but relaxing because there were grandparents and cousins to provide endless entertainment. The weather was gorgeous on the 24th, and we went to a local park for playing and exercise. My dad took my sister and me shopping for cowboy boots at a local shop…
We made it home to Hillsborough for the holidays. It took us forever to get out the door, both because packing for two kids is a whole new ballgame and because Avery had an ear infection and we had to wait for the prescription. Luckily, the drive went smoothly! My mom babysat and we stopped by a high school friend’s Christmas party on Saturday night. Sunday was lazy but we did make it out for my first run in maybe…
‘Tis the week before Christmas! Anyone traveling anywhere really exciting? We had a great weekend with a few fun outings. Friday, I had a girls night with some friends at Sweet Spot studio for a cookie decorating class. The studio had a gluten free cookie option which was so thoughtful of them!!! The cookies were already cut and cooked, and we learned how to mix royal icing and then practiced different techniques on the cookies. We also brought wine and…
Hello! I’m sharing a few of my eats and go-to recipes recently. Since having Avery, I’m all about the quick cooking. Some day I’ll get back into more complex recipes, but for now, it’s just eat and repeat! I’ve always been an overnight oats person (mostly because I love them as a base for peanut butter) so breakfasts have been the same as always. I rarely get tired of this breakfast and it’s been great for mornings after sleep deprived nights…
7:30 – Avery is stirring and I hear her poop. This is how I wake up most mornings:) I change her and feed her while Matt goes and gets Emerson out of her crib. 8:00 – I come downstairs as Matt is leaving for work. Em is putting on her coat with her underwear to walk Matt to his car. She comes back in and I put Avery in the bouncer so I can make breakfast for both of us.…
-Emerson is getting so into performing and reenacting scenes from movies that I think I need to send her to a school for the performing arts! -Sleeping on my stomach again is absolutely delightful. -I am loving having hot yoga back in my life. It’s such an amazing practice for me right now – although finding the time to go/getting out the door is hard. -Avery is growing up so fast! I can’t get over how smiley she is in…
What a treat to have such a long weekend! Matt’s parents, sister, and sister’s husband arrived on Wednesday afternoon. I was out at my PT appointment, and then went to Whole Foods for the turkey and some last minute groceries. I also picked up pumpkin pie and quiche from Sunflower Baking Company, and then a fall pie and mushroom pot pie from Move That Dough Baking Co. Sunflower is one of my go-to’s for GF baked goods, and I decided this…
It is so hard to make a finite list of what I’m thankful for because I become more overwhelmed with thankfulness for one million things with every year that goes by. It’s amazing how much life experience, having children, and learning more about what’s going on in the world will give you perspective and make you appreciate the small things. While my thankful list is endless this year, if I did have to pick just one thing…I’d pick this little…
