– I took Emerson to the local ‘Cat Cafe’ as a fun indoor activity, and there were 28 (!) cats lounging in one room. I’ve never seen someone get so excited. But I was a little worried about the cats as Emerson squealed and charged towards them. I bet they were all rolling their eyes. -Speaking of cats, don’t you love this label? I got a shipment from Winc (<–referral link) and enjoyed this red even more after my visit…
Life
Hey y’all, So sorry for the lack of posts. Thanks for your patience as I get my life together. We spent 10 days at my parents house on Bald Head before we arrived in Brooklyn. It was a much-needed rest after the craziness of the fall and moving out of our house. I absolutely loved being away from cars and having nothing but a grocery trip on the agenda each day. I fall more in love with the island…
Hello from Bald Head Island! Matt and I are enjoying some time with my family and then Matt’s family while we wait for our moving truck to make its way across the country. It’s weird being homeless and I’m definitely feeling anxious to get settled. We had a busy week before we left – cleaning, selling furniture, and finalizing an offer on our house! We tried to see as many friends as possible, and I started to get really sad…
Hello! I’ve owed you an update for a while, but life has been crazy. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. My mom and Matt’s mom left last Monday, my birthday was Wednesday, Emerson came down with the stomach bug on Thursday, our house hit the market Friday and we had an open house on Saturday, we searched for apartments in NYC Saturday-Monday, Matt finished his last day of work on Wednesday, and Emerson has a fever today. Whew!…
I had to work on Thursday, but my mom was able to be at home to meet the carpet cleaners and mosquito guy so that my house was ready for the birthday party (and the market…). Work days always fly by, but I tried to stop and think about my labor and visited Emerson in the nursery
It’s been a while since I wrote a day in the life post and life is different now! My 4 month post was from a stay-at-home day, so I thought I’d write this post based on a work day. 5:30 – Matt is leaving for the airport. I’m not sure if it was a coincidence or a noise he made, but I hear Emerson wake up. Even though she’s not eating much breast milk these days, she still wakes up…
Hi y’all, There’s not a whole lot going on over here – September has been kind of blah in general? After Emerson’s croup, she came down with her first double ear infection. So we spent our weekend inside with the exception of quickly grabbing margaritas and guacamole before getting takeout on Saturday night. I’m hoping to get out and about more this coming weekend! I’m happy to be resting on the couch after finishing another work week. It was a…
-Emerson came down with croup this week, which meant a trip to the hospital for steroids. It’s weird not being able to go to work when I’m healthy, but we enjoyed some extra cuddles and lots of books together. So glad she is on the mend! -I’m seeing a lot more clothing delivery services out there, and some geared towards moms. Has anyone tried something other than Stitchfix? -It’s this time of year that I miss the East Coast the…
Wasn’t the long weekend just sooo nice? Although I’m only working part-time now, Matt has been working crazy hours, and it was amazing to have him home for three days of uninterrupted time! Saturday was all about getting our life in order. Gym for me, soccer for Matt! We also went grocery shopping, did all the laundry, and cleaned. Don’t you love knocking out all the chores on the first day? Then the three of us had a date night…
