Weekending

Life

How’s it going out there? I’m back in the swing of things over here. The initial craziness of work has died down as the kids get into a routine with their teachers. I know I need to appreciate a few relatively quiet weeks before teachers start sending referrals my way. I’m slowly getting back into waking up early to go to the gym. Matt has gone with me a few mornings, and it makes it one million times easier to…

Out with a Bang

Life Travel Twenties

Summer break is over and I’m back to school tomorrow. I was seriously spoiled so I know it’s time to do some work! I spent a week with my family at Carolina beach back in North Carolina. It was super relaxing and we spent our days at the beach and our evenings cooking seafood, drinking wine, and playing games. The wonderful weather and beautiful beach made me miss NC! Once I was home last week, I went into serious nesting…

This and That

Life Ramblings

I’m taking a break from my trip recaps to say hello! I feel like I haven’t written a regular post in a loong time. Since coming home I’ve spent 91% of my time on the couch, doing nothing and also working on my summer curriculum work for school (which is almost finished, yay!) I’ve basically felt sick for two weeks, and my doctor finally figured out that I have shingles! I’m on the mend now, and I’m just relieved to…

Summer

Life Ramblings Travel

Ahh summer vacation. Sometimes I just can’t believe that the kids are gone and I get to take a break for 2 whole months! I’ve felt like the luckiest person on the planet this week, and I’m really trying to savor every day. Last week, my parents were in town, so I still felt busy, but this week I’ve had moments where I just didn’t know how to spend my time. I’m working with a colleague on creating an advisory…

Thoughts from a Thursday

Life The Working World

-I think I have senioritis. This whole year time has moved so quickly yet the last two weeks are moving soo slowly. I’m getting very excited. I put in a proposal to do some work over the summer and I’m looking forward to two trips! -Matt and I have almost been married for 2 years! We have a wedding this weekend, so we celebrated early with the tasting menu at FT33 last weekend. The food was fantastic! My only complaint…

The Last of the Grandparents

Life Travel

It was a somber weekend. Matt’s grandpa passed away at the ripe old age of 97 while couponing on a Sunday morning. Friday, we traveled to Island Heights, NJ to celebrate his life. We had a nice time gathering with Matt’s family (I met all his cousins!) and hearing old stories. We even danced to Donna Summer’s Last Dance in his honor because he was dancing up until the day he died. En route to the memorial service, I found…

Sharing the Love

Life Ramblings

It’s awesome how anti-bullying campaigns are sweeping through schools these days! Internet bullying is out of control though, and I can only hope that the generation that’s being hit hard with the anti-bullying messages in schools today will change the internets tomorrow. This video was shared at my school and I wanted to pass it along because I love this man! Enjoy!…

Another Shift

Life

Well hello there! You might be surprised to see a post here. I know this a bit of a bother, but I’m coming back to this URL. I got a lot of feedback (mostly from friends and family) that they miss TBT and can never remember to visit Tasting-Tour. I miss it too. I also know that down the road I’ll be thankful that everything is in one place. I’ll still be shifting the focus of my content a bit,…

Happy Holidays!

Life Ramblings Travel

Hello! It’s been a while, my friends. I was sick the last week of school, so I spent a lot of time laying on the couch and not getting anything accomplished. I’m so thankful to have two weeks off for Christmas break! I finally felt normal-ish on Saturday and went to spinning, got a haircut, and went to a Christmas party with tamales. I love that that’s a thing here. I also watched The Giver. I remember loving the book…
