…to go until the wedding! I’m excited, nervous, a bit stressed, but mostly excited all at the same time! A year sure flies by these days. And we have a marriage license! I wasn’t expecting to have to take an oath – kinda felt like we were married after the oath, especially since a couple congratulated us on the way out. I came home and made sweet potato enchiladas to celebrate. Only I forgot the verde sauce and had to use salsa. Oh…
Life
Matt is officially finished with business school! Wooo hoo! He doesn’t graduate for two more weeks, but finishing eight terms at Fuqua is definitely something to celebrate! The Dean hosted a reception at the Nasher Museum with all kinds of goodies: The bbq salmon was so awesome!! And how cute are these little pimento cheese biscuits? I’m going to miss Durham’s pimento cheese obsession. More than the pimento cheese, I’m going to miss the people. Good thing some of these…
Garlic asparagus, Cajun catfish, and rice and beans! Matt and I tag-teamed the cooking last night and dinner came together so much faster. Loved this meal. In the next few weeks, I may be transitioning to all microwave meals and salads. Time is of the essence. I’m thinking a wedding planner would have been a good idea right about now. I’m so thankful for a weekend at home with only a few things on the agenda. Only 4 more weeks at work (and a…
Why is pretty much my only thought. I took this picture from the Mass Ave bridge in Boston. It used to be my blog header (and still kinda is) because it reminds me that after every sunset there’s a sunrise and a brand new day. Hope. Bostonians are wicked strong. Yesterday was horrific, and my heart goes out to all those who were hurt, killed, scared, or simply didn’t get to finish something they worked so hard for.…
I’ve been keeping something from you. But now that my employer is in the know about next year, I can officially share that Matt and I will be migrating across the country to the Lone Star state…. Source Don’t ya love how they make it look like Dallas is on the water:) We’re moving to Dallas, TX this summer!! Whew. Feels good to share. I’m obviously very excited, but I will have to admit that it took me a minute…
I’m trying to remind myself to slow down every once and a while. With the wedding to-do list constantly in my brain, my thoughts are always racing. Even when I’m “watching” tv these days, I’m really just on my computer and don’t actually absorb anything on the screen. I think I’ve unconsciously started to slow down with my posts, and will likely blog a little less often in these last two months before Matt’s graduation and wedding. One thing at…
Time is flying faster than I can ever remember. I’ve become one of those people who clicks on all the ads for clutches and wedges on the sides of webpages. The internet knows just what I’m looking for these days, and if it’s not wedding related, it’s spring browsing or unnecessary travel accessories. Fish tacos: never as good at home as in restaurants. But, nothing that an airplane bottle of Jose in a homemade margarita can’t fix. Spring break: it’s…
Dreams of the Weekend: I’m craving a burger. With sunshine. Or a beer. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a nice glass of port too. I can’t wait until its warm enough for this. The 10 day forecast is glorious! Also, I bought a $3 silly sun hat because I’m totally the type to get a sun burn before my wedding day. I haven’t made my bed time goal in approximately 10 days. I did a behavior…
It was a dark and rainy day, but I was strangely in a fabulous mood. I think it had something to do with the very, very negative meeting I had today. It reminded me of all the sunny, positive people I have in my life and all I have to look forward to. And spring is on the way!!!!! After work, I went to the gym for my favorite class and then had yet another bubbling crock pot dinner waiting…
