I’ve taken a little unintentional social media and blogging break because I’m recovering from my third round of mono:( Perhaps my body is telling me I need to rest? I’ve felt great since Avery has been born (so much energy compared to pregnancy), but I guess I am more drained than I realized. I think the back-to back travel with Christmas and Florida wasn’t great either – the last recurrence was right after travel (also in January), so maybe it’s…
Life
We had a wonderful Christmas back in my hometown of Hillsborough!! It was both exhausting and relaxing. Exhausting because being away from home these days is tiring and the girls didn’t sleep all that well, but relaxing because there were grandparents and cousins to provide endless entertainment. The weather was gorgeous on the 24th, and we went to a local park for playing and exercise. My dad took my sister and me shopping for cowboy boots at a local shop…
7:30 – Avery is stirring and I hear her poop. This is how I wake up most mornings:) I change her and feed her while Matt goes and gets Emerson out of her crib. 8:00 – I come downstairs as Matt is leaving for work. Em is putting on her coat with her underwear to walk Matt to his car. She comes back in and I put Avery in the bouncer so I can make breakfast for both of us.…
It is so hard to make a finite list of what I’m thankful for because I become more overwhelmed with thankfulness for one million things with every year that goes by. It’s amazing how much life experience, having children, and learning more about what’s going on in the world will give you perspective and make you appreciate the small things. While my thankful list is endless this year, if I did have to pick just one thing…I’d pick this little…
Hello out there, Finding time to blog has gotten a bit more difficult:) As you can imagine, I’m finding myself with a lot less free time these days. Matt was off or working from home for the first three weeks, so last week was my first week solo. Emerson has calmed down from the excitement of Avery’s birth a bit, and the week went pretty well overall. I’m so thankful that Emerson goes to preschool three days a week so…
-There’s a lot I forgot about how hard postpartum recovery period is physically. Although my recovery has def. been easier this time around, I’m thankful that it’s mostly behind me [hopefully]. -It’s crazy to me how different Avery already is from Emerson. For some reason, I was expecting them to be the exact same as newborns. -It’s been such a treat to have meals brought over by friends these past two weeks. Not only because we don’t have to cook,…
We had a big weekend over here! Well, Emerson did – I mostly sat on the couch:) Friday, Emerson and a classmate celebrated their birthdays (both the 12th!) at school with a donut party. Parents aren’t allowed to attend, but Em was full of energy when she got home from school and was eager to tell us all about it. She was super wound up and skipped her nap, making for a cranky Friday night. We took a family walk…
Just popping in to introduce Miss Avery Elizabeth Allen! She arrived at 11:16pm on October 3rd weighing 8lbs 1oz! 09 We are thrilled that she’s here and healthy, and can’t stop staring at her tiny face. Grammie brought Emerson to the hospital the next morning to meet Avery, and she was super excited and a bit in awe, I think. Em wanted to hold her immediately and just kept saying, “Mom, she’s so tiny.” We brought her home on Saturday,…
This summer, no two days have been alike! While I loved the fun and flexibility of summer, I’m excited to get back into the rhythm of the school year. Plus, I think Emerson is happiest when she has some days with friends/school and some days with mom. Here’s a day in our life this week: 6:25 – Emerson’s is crying – this is an hour earlier than her typical time and I am soooo tired (Matt’s traveling & Em was…
