I’ve become a real procrastinator lately. Not with wedding or work things, but with other life things. Like, um, tonight I got around to removing the pink nail polish I put on for our trip to Miami…in December. I’ve also been putting off my taxes. Which really isn’t a big deal because it’s only February, but it’s been at the back of my mind. It only took me like 20 minutes, since my finances at this point in my…
Ramblings
I feel like I’m in this peaceful period – the calm before the storm. This winter has been relatively slow in terms of plans and events, and while I know things are about to be super busy, I’ve just been enjoying going to work, slowly making my way through the giant to-do list that is the wedding, and taking pleasure in the slow pace of the cold season. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately: I’ve been trying to work out…
I made it to 6am spinning [after two failed attempts last week]. it was dark and cold but I went and pushed through and felt fabulous afterwards. I had my oatmeal in a peanut butter container this morning and enjoyed all the bonus butter from the contours. Made for a nice reward for spinning. 101 days of school complete. I laughed with my co-workers and knocked out two reevaluation meetings and one student observation. Wedding stamps arrived!!! I found a…
-I slept through my 5:30 alarm for spinning and woke up with a jolt at 6:30. It was actually glorious because I got an extra hour of sleep and still managed to fit in a jog. I couldn’t believe how great I felt with that extra hour today! -I found a recipe for dill and zucchini orzo in Country Living and it was so delicious. This will be perfect for summer (aka yesterday’s weather), and I can’t wait to make…
January and spring are the two times of the year I feel like making home improvements. Last year, I bought a new duvet because my room was cold and lacking color. I’m holding off on purchases this year because of the registry, but I’ve found myself walking around the apartment looking for things to straighten or improve. I did a closet cleanse two weeks ago. I saw all the summer dresses in the back and got really excited! In a…
-I can’t believe how much the temps dropped overnight. And I can’t believe I lived in Boston and could endure this type of weather for months! I keep thinking just get through these two weeks and it will be February. Then I feel guilty for wishing time away. You know those House Hunters episodes where they just uproot, move to a Caribbean island, and volunteer at the locals schools? That sounds really appealing right now:) -Warmth reminds me of beach…
Not just any Thursday, it was back to work day. Waking up was horrible but once I got there it felt quite good to have a purpose to my day! Leftover jambalaya for lunch definitely spiced things up:) It was not a good day for the heat to stop working in the building. My students have to take exams next week – no matter how bad going back to work feels, nothing is worse than taking tests!!! I know, I…
Sometimes it’s so nice to have no plans. I had really low expectations for last night, and I such a blast in small town Durham. We had hoped to throw a party, but with so many people traveling, it was kind of a fail. And then we tried to coordinate a progressive evening of sorts with different friend groups and it just didn’t come together. So, Matt and I found ourselves with a completely free NYE and a fabulous night…
I don’t really know what I did this weekend. I’m so excited to be on break, that I’ve just been going with the flow. It’s amazing. And it’s so nice that I don’t have to travel this year, since my parents live 20 minutes down the road! I never remember feeling so relaxed right before Christmas. Friday was the last day of school for students and the principal arranged a huge bbq lunch for all the staff. We had pulled…
