After a dessert bar on Monday and appetizers for dinner on Tuesday, a healthy dinner was necessary. Matt was home for dinner tonight (yay!), and I could tell he was disappointed when I told him salads were on the menu. But tonight’s salads were better than your average greens – I topped these with hot lentils and sweet potatoes, blue cheese, carrots, and avocado with homemade dressing. With hummus toast on the last of the GH herb bread on the…
Ramblings
I meant to publish this post on Labor Day, but somehow it slipped through the cracks… My summer quickly came to an end three weeks ago, but for many others, summer officially ended with Labor Day. I was blessed to be able to enjoy a summer off (well, aside from babysitting) and was able to do some neat things because of my flexibility! Here are the highlights from a fun-filled summer: Getting Engaged!!! Being a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding.…
I’m eating fine cheeses and drinking wine with friends, addressing 80 Save-the-Dates, hanging around the house with this guy, and waiting on Baby Younger-Monson! How about you?…
You guys are great:) A summer without TV has decreased my TV watching! When do fall shows start? I get a paycheck this week!!!!!! (I think?) Sweet potatoes and black beans never get old. As annoying as it is to start work at 7:30, being home by 4 is awesome! I feel like baking. If all schools would set thermostats to 78 instead of 70, maybe we wouldn’t have an energy crisis and I could do my job without shivering.…
Six hours alone in the car yesterday left me with lots of thoughts about the summer… -There were days when I stayed on the couch from 9 to 5 -Ever since I saw el giganto spider in the bathtub, I never showered in our sublet (I went to the gym) -I’ve packed on a few pounds from glorious Atlanta restaurants and its not a good thing -I only really cooked three time -I got lonely in Atlanta when Matt was…
Ecto just ate the previous post…let me try to remember my thoughts… -There was a hint of fall in the air today. This is about the only time of year when I get tired of the heat. -How do you ever decide on a wedding dress? -Where should we move after Matt graduates? -Fish never tastes as good at home as it does in restaurants. I should just give up. -Jam/jelly reductions make the best sauces. -I can’t believe I…
Another glorious day of babysitting in the ATL. Today was rainy and I was actually cold in the midst of this hot summer. I almost forgot what it feels like to be in another season. Soon though, fall will be here! Summer is moving way too quickly. I start work in one month:/ For the first time in ions, I got myself up and to the gym before 9am. I’ve gotten used to lazy mornings with cereal, so it’s hard…
Guys, I’m heading west for an unexpected vacation! Matt’s attending a summer conference with his company and he got to bring a guest at no additional cost. And guess who he picked!!?? source So I’m heading to a resort in Dallas tonight!! To say I’m pumped would be an understatement. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing there, except eating free Tex-mex and checking out the pool. Sounds like the perfect vacation to me! I’ll report back. Adios.…
The highlights of my day: 1. This kitchen sink salad 2. A $75 haircut. The salad was a salad, with arugula, roasted broccoli, goat cheese, hummus, white kidney beans, avocado, olive oil. Enough said. But about the haircut, oh the haircut! I think $35 is a reasonable price for a haircut, don’t you? After all, I usually just get an inch cut off with a little re-shaping and call it a day. But today, I was totally pampered with a…
