Happy Birthday TBT!!! I’ve made it through a year of blogging! Remember this? My first post! On the surface, a lot has changed since this time last year – I graduated with a specialist degree, I said goodbye to Boston and moved south, and I got my first job. But deep down, not much has changed – I’m still on a hunt for good beer, I’m still finding my way around the kitchen, I’m still searching for that perfect…
Ramblings
Today was busy busy. I was working on two big projects at work that were due today and tomorrow, and then I got a third semi-last minute assignment. I’m usually not one to stress out too much, but since I’m new, I’m doing things really slowly. And then there was a miscommunication and I had to start my task all over again! I didn’t even have a second to enjoy my lunch because I had to shove it in between…
Good Evening, I’m currently lying in bed with my monthly stomach ache with my obsession (the song, not the video) on repeat. My new mattress was delivered today! I got just about the cheapest pillowtop I could find, but it still feels better than my old one. And, now I have a guest room: friends please come stay in it. I spent the day running more errands. They are never-ending. It seems like it only took a few days to…
Well it’s back to real life this week. I am so thankful Matt and I were able to take a big trip together before he has two years of nonstop work. Looking back on the trip, the past ten days were truly amazing: Number of miles traveled: ~ 5,000 Number of hangovers: 0 Number of sunburns: 2 (arms and legs on different days) Number of delicious pounds gained: 3 Number of times a view left me speechless: 4 Number of…
And that, my friends, is an example of Ecto eating a post. The funny thing is: the post was actually titled Oops before it happened. I probably spent an hour typing the post, and I just don’t have it in me to re-type it. I’ll just dedicate this to my Conair hairdryer that stopping working this morning: thank you for doing a great job for many important events over the past seven years; you will be missed.…
There’s only a few hours and a plane trip between me and a wedding weekend in southern California! I love the west coast and I love weddings. I could barely contain my excitement at work today and, as usual, I had a lot of thoughts: Unlike the rest of the world, I love airport food. I met a pilot in a bar once and drilled him with all the questions I’ve always wanted answered about planes. It did NOT help…
It felt like summer today – Boston reached 77!!! Yet, I still wore my pea coat over a flannel shirt this afternoon because I’m thawing out. When I was at the park, I actually overheard a girl talking about me to another, saying “I always check the weather in the morning…I feel so sorry for the people who have on wool sweaters and coats today.” Hey, I check the weather every morning too, but Boston is unpredictable and I was…
So yesterday I had a 50 minute massage, thanks to a gift card Matt gave me for Valentine’s day. I figured my week of relaxation was a good time to redeem it. I’ve actually only had one other massage in my life – a 30 minute Swedish massage in NYC. There was way too much of the chopping motion during the Swedish (I thought that was only in the movies), so I went with a deep tissue this time. All…
I never feel like the gym on Tuesdays. I left after 15 minutes and took a walk. And then I found myself in Anthropologie, drooling. Luckily, Matt intervened and whisked me away to Whole Foods to buy fresh haddock. Dinner was ready in just ten minutes. Pan seared haddock + my favorite apricot glaze from this recipe + veggies + couscous. Quick and delicious. I’m so mentally ready for spring break next week. And then I remembered I probably will…
