Ramblings

Settling into 2016 feels nice. Although it was only a 4 day week last week, I was tired! I’m glad to be back in the grove this week. We stayed in on Friday and made a dinner of pork chops with jalapeño cranberry relish, sweet potatoes, and collards. Matt’s sister sent us this awesome smoked maple syrup and we used just a dash in the collards. It’s fabulous with bourbon too. Saturday, was all about catching up on life. But…

What Are You Celebrating?

Life Ramblings

…is the question my yoga teacher posed tonight, and man do I have answers for her. I’m celebrating that my body can do yoga; that I get to fill it with giant bowls of food for dinner each night; and that I alleviated my digestive issues. I’m celebrating that Christmas break starts one week from tomorrow, and I am able to go home to NC. I’m celebrating that Raphael finally told Jane that he made a mistake on Jane the…

Life Lately

Life Ramblings Travel

Hey, hey. I hope you guys had a good holiday. It’s been a while – I was swamped last week, and needed a little extra time. The three weeks between Thanksgiving are Christmas are a sprint at work. But I was ready for it because my break was super relaxing. We had fabulous weather in Maryland, and Matt’s parents took great care of us. I think I slept for 9 or 10 hours most nights! I came home to a…

Thoughts from a Tuesday

Life Ramblings Travel

-It’s this time of year that I fall in love with Dallas again – the weather has been picture perfect and the best part is that it usually lasts. -I’ve been trying to switch to clean lip balm, and I’m having the hardest time – my lips get so cracked and gross that I go running back to the Blistex. -We had a low key weekend, including Moroccan food at Souk – I loved the lamb tagine, Lebanese wine, and…

Thoughts from a Thursday

Life Ramblings

– I finally got my flu shot today, and it hurt more than I ever remember. I can feel the soreness setting in. – Has anyone seen Jane the Virgin? I’ve watched the first few episodes, and I like the pace – kind of a different show. – Since turning 30, I’ve struggled to stay present – I think the milestone bought up a lot of questions about things I want to accomplish or experience. – I heard Glennon speak…

A Work Day

Life Ramblings The Working World Twenties

It seems most women who blog write about the glamorous stuff: made-from-scratch meals, pics when they’re all dolled up with friends, and cute babies with headbands. I’m guilty of writing 98% of posts about my weekends, which involve a lot of fun and games. I find it really fascinating to read day-in-the-life posts about others though, especially posts from people who have to get up and go to an office everyday. I don’t think I’ve ever written one in the…

Weekending

Ramblings

It’s hard to believe we’re almost to hump day in yet another week. Time is flying and I can’t keep up. Work has been super hectic, and I’m not getting my sleep – either I can’t fall asleep or Matt wakes me up when he comes home late. He was out of town this weekend, so I declared it a weekend of rest! I didn’t take a single picture with my camera, so Instagram shots will have to do: I…

Crowdsourced Cab + Restaurant Week

Ramblings

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Columbia Crest. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.” Columbia Crest asked me to share a bit about their unique Crowdsourced Cabernet and Executive Crowdsourcing Officer position. I’m on such a wine kick these days, so I gladly agreed to write about this cool project, and drink some Columbia Crest in exchange:) Columbia Crest is the first winery to start the process of crowdsourcing…

This and That

Life Ramblings

I’m taking a break from my trip recaps to say hello! I feel like I haven’t written a regular post in a loong time. Since coming home I’ve spent 91% of my time on the couch, doing nothing and also working on my summer curriculum work for school (which is almost finished, yay!) I’ve basically felt sick for two weeks, and my doctor finally figured out that I have shingles! I’m on the mend now, and I’m just relieved to…
