To be honest, most of my fun in Denver involved beer:) One of the bartenders told us it just surpassed Portland in terms of the city with the most breweries! But the fun also involved meeting up with friends (we had dinner with Matt’s buddy and his fiance and I had the above), as well as strolling around the city. I had never been to Denver before and I was blown away by how awesome it is! Great weather (well…

Well, we’ve been eating for 4 days and I’ve got lots to share with you. A big draw for us to vacation in Colorado was all the beer! I enjoyed a summer wheat beer from Odell and an amber from the Alaskan Brewing Co., while enjoying great view of the cute Yampa River. Happy hours seem to be big here and you can easily get a pint for $2! We stayed in a studio room at the Trailhead Lodge, which…
Our four days in Steamboat are over, but it was such a fun and cute town to visit! The weather was a bit chilly, but I found myself loving it after spending the summer in Atlanta. We spent our first day just walking around, checking out shops, and searching for the gurgling hot spring that gave Steamboat its name. We found a path that runs right along the Yampa river and enjoyed strolling on it for a little exercise. My…
When I quit my job last year, I was pumped to find out about the concept of ‘vacation payout.’ I’m quitting and you’re giving me money? Sweet. At that time, I decided it was only appropriate that I use my vacation payout to go on vacation! A great deal on a flight, off-season hotel prices, and six months of savings later, and a trip to Colorado was born. Matt and I enjoyed going out west so much last year, that…
I’m back in the ATL for the final stretch, but going back to NC this weekend made me sooo ready to get back to Durham and regular life! If you are just tuning in, I traveled home to go my sister’s baby shower. She’s due in just a few short weeks!!! I went home on Thursday night, which means I got to go wedding dress shopping with my mom on Friday!! No purchases yet, but def. found some dresses that…
Wow. What a weekend! I traveled to Boston to be a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding. Everything appeared to go exactly as planned and I had a blast: Friday night, the groom’s parents hosted a lovely rehearsal dinner at the Nashoba Valley Winery. The setting was beautiful and the food fantastic! I sipped on red wine, but the beer was very tasty too! Dinner was a full three course meal and the winery used a lot of fresh, local ingredients!…
It comes once a week – you know it’s my fav: the Mexican bowl! Although there’s no big bowls in my sublet, so I had to eat this on a plate. Well, I was able to scoop up most of it with chips. Speaking of bowls. I love Atlanta; I love our little apartment here, but I think I’m ready to be in my own space again. It’s funny how I notice the little things about being away from home.…
Our last day in Dallas was spent with friends! Matt’s best bud from high school and his wife Beccah have a 2-week-old baby boy. Welcome to the world, William! William was actually two weeks early, so it was fun visiting with him on basically his due date. He was soo tiny and fragile. Made me a bit nervous:) And reminded me that I’m going to be an aunt very very soon!!!! Saturday evening, one of my college roommates came out…
Lots of great food and people at Matt’s summer associate conference in Texas this weekend. Boy am I tired though! Here’s a few highlights, including an unexpected wine tasting, Tex-mex, a bbq in the stockyards, and a visit to the Fort Worth Rodeo. Matt and I were also able to visit with a few of our good friends, which was a pleasant surprise on Saturday. I think I’ve got a few more pictures to upload tomorrow. Oh, and I had…
