I’d say these are loose guidelines, as I don’t like putting too much pressure on myself to change (there’s enough pressure already from society, right?) But, I certainly welcome January as a time to reflect and make improvements. -Write more blog posts – I’ve got the time and I like to write, so why not? -Enjoy the present – this is a big one for me. If you’ve been reading for a while, you know this is the whole reason…

Do you get a friends baby moon too? If so, I had an excuse to take one for my bff’s bachelorette party last weekend. Sadly, I can’t uphold my duty as a bridesmaid since the wedding is so close to my due date. Matt headed to Nantucket for a guys weekend, so we each got one more ‘party’ before we sit in our house for at least 6 months:) I can’t say I’ll miss getting on a plane. We rented…
The rest of our time in Bermuda was spent doing a lot of lounging and exploring different beaches. We also loved the infinity pool at our hotel, but didn’t discover how awesome it was until the end of the trip. Floating on noodles felt heavenly. The beach club at our hotel was perfect for swimming – they had really nice chairs, hammocks, and a restaurant, and it was rarely crowded. We spent a couple of full days there – swimming,…
As you probably gathered from Instagram, Matt and I took a babymoon to Bermuda! We wanted a low-key beach vacation, and since so many places have Zika, we landed on Bermuda. I hadn’t heard much about it before we went and have literally never met anyone who has been (aside from a cruise stop) – I’m so glad we discovered this gem that’s so close to the east coast, because it’s an amazing little island! We spent our first three…
Hi friends, We are back at home in Texas after a lovely trip to visit friends and family in North Carolina, both at our alma mater and at the beach. As we traveled back from the coast to Charlotte to catch our flight, we learned of the horrifying news in Orlando on Sunday. It’s such a sad time for our country, and it’s disheartening that things only seem to be getting worse. We also learned of my dear aunt Pat…
Hello. I owe you a post from my trip to hill country for spring break. Matt and I made somewhat last minute plans to take a road trip, and ended up booking 4 nights at Travassa Austin. We left after waking up on Thursday, and stopped at a classic bbq joint in Belton for lunch. We ordered the combo plate with pulled pork and brisket from Millers, and loved every bit of it (well, maybe not the onions:) We arrived…
Hi Friends, Happy spring and happy belated birthday to my mom! I’m enjoying some time off from work for spring break, and it’s been nice hanging out at home. Here’s what I’ve been up to: Burgers with friends on Friday night – they brought their adorable kids, and it was nice to catch up since they are busy, busy. We need to get a grill though because we made a mess in the kitchen with grease flying off the griddle…
Last week was a special one, as I got to travel for work! I went down to New Orleans for the annual school psychology conference. Although the 8-6 conference left me too tired for Bourbon Street, I did have some good southern food at Bayona and Kingfish for dinner. Check out this fish taco platter. On my way to the airport, I also stopped at Seed Your Health for the cashew chili cheese fries, stuffed zucchini salad, and a raw…
Happy new year! I hope you guys are getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. Matt and I went down to Mexico for a few days, and boy do I miss this view. We used Marriott points to stay at the brand new JW Marriott Los Cabos near San Jose Del Cabo. The resort was absolutely amazing, and probably the nicest place I’ve ever stayed! The experience was almost worth having Matt travel to Seattle for six…
