Summer break is over and I’m back to school tomorrow. I was seriously spoiled so I know it’s time to do some work! I spent a week with my family at Carolina beach back in North Carolina. It was super relaxing and we spent our days at the beach and our evenings cooking seafood, drinking wine, and playing games. The wonderful weather and beautiful beach made me miss NC! Once I was home last week, I went into serious nesting…

San Sebastian is amazing, and it was easily my favorite place we visited on this trip. The vibe is old English beach town meets Spanish hippy surfing community. And it was quite cheap. Think big, bold Rioja for 2 or 3 Euros per glass. We stayed at the lovely Hotel de Londres right on the beach, and we had killer views. After a very long day in the car, we were happy to explore Old Town and try the famous…
Looking though all of my pictures, the past two weeks seem like a dream. Maybe it’s the jet lag fog. Visiting other countries and cultures amazes me every time. Where do I begin? In Nice, I suppose. We rented an apartment though Nice Pebbles, which I would highly recommend. Matt and I were a bit sick with colds at the beginning of our trip, but we still loved Nice. The Riveria has soo many things to do, and we felt…
Where did I leave off? On our second night, we got dressed up and went into San Juan to dine at the famous Marmalade. But first, we went to the cutest little wine bar, called Alfresco, for champagne and olives. What a gem! Marmalade had an awesome interior – it was full of big wingback chairs and little nooks with cushions and pillows. I ordered a spicy tequila drink that had peppers frozen in the middle of a big ice…
We’re back from a wonderful few days in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had a lot of rainy weather, but when the sun was out, the beach was gorgeous! We stayed at the Marriott with Matt’s rewards points and we were really happy with it. The resort is right on the beach in an area called Condado, with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were high up on the 12th floor with a view of the pool…
It’s spring break in the DFW area but it sure doesn’t feel like it. We had yet another snow day last week and today we have steady, cold rain. I’ve been doing a lot of yoga to stay warm and it’s not even that cold here. I’ve gotten really into the restorative/therapeutic classes as a way to de-stress. I’ve been bad at multi-tasking and letting my brain go a million miles a minute, so I’m trying to focus on mindfulness…
I absolutely fell in love with Puerto Vallarta! I can’t believe this paradise is just two hours from Dallas. The food, the people, and the scenery were wonderful. Matt spoke Spanish as much as possible, and we chatted with so many interesting people and got to know the staff at the resort. We ate amazingly fresh seafood, consumed as much guacamole as humanly possible, and sipped margaritas and cervezas a little too often. One of the highlights was a mountain…
The wedding feels so long ago. Even though I’ve already blogged about it and shared pictures, all of the snaps were from Kath’s DSLR. The pictures from our photographer, Theo Milo, were ready once I got back from the honeymoon and they are fabulous!!!! But I had to wait for the disk to make its way to Texas before I could share them. I love them so much and am thrilled with how they turned out. Theo was super easy…
-I packed up one of my offices today – crazy, and so exciting -Tornadoes scare the sh*t out of me and I can’t imagine what the people of OK must be going through – makes wedding decor seems like the stupidest thing in the world -Matt is keeping me sane by doing a million things – he made mini burgers tonight that turned out awesome! Can’t wait to eat more burgers at summer bbqs -I just got super excited to…
