Your comments from last night? The best way to make me feel better about a silly spill. Goat cheese and sun-dried tomato ravioli: hands down the best flavor from the Trader Joe’s collection. Beer left over from Christmas: the best remedy for chilly weather and a long day. The Hunger Games: the best book-to-movie I can ever remember. Getting in bed when you’re really tired and your feet are cold: among the best of the best things in life. Night.…
Beer
What better way to celebrate a birthday than with pizza and beer? We went to an old favorite, Brixx pizza, to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. NC beers were on special, so I ordered the Weeping Willow Wit. Tasted just like summer! We had a balmy night, so we sat outside on the patio. This, the night shots. I ordered the pimento cheese pizza and exchanged slices with my Mom and Matt. Mine was super cheesy and the bacon was awesome!…
As you may have figured out if you’re a reader of Kath’s blog, the practicum Matt was doing was actually in India! He’s been gone for 13 days and he’s finally home!!! It was a bit lonely here, but I kept myself busy with two weekends with family. Last night, we celebrated his homecoming with a beer. He came bearing Indian jewelry and scarves, as well as Indian desserts! These were definitely different, but really good! My guess is some…
My weekend was….eventful! I kicked Friday off with the Vegas-style auction and poker night at Fuqua. The event seemed to be a big success, which means lots of $$ raised for the NC Special Olympics. And the weekend concluded with an Oscar event. Jill and Brendan hosted a fabulous viewing party this evening and costumes were required. Can you guess who we are? Every time the Oscars come around, I always regret not seeing more movies – they really are…
And the fun continues! My sister was in town this weekend, so I was able to spend the day hanging out with family. The girls headed to the mall to do a little maternity shopping (and a little spring shopping for me!). Love the colors in the stores these days – I got two spring dresses and cannot wait for warm weather. We had a nice lunch at Panera and did a little relaxing this afternoon. We also did a…
I’m back home in Durham and having my usual vacation withdrawal (I ate a whole bag of jelly beans on the drive home…) We had such a fabulous time and the warm weather got me so pumped for spring! Too bad we woke up to pouring rain and dropping temperatures. Rumor has it, we might even see some snow. But, let’s back up to Friday – Matt and I grabbed dinner at the Bald Head Island Club bar. We had…
Boats. 61 and sunny. Fat Tire. Not-your-average-hushpuppies (stuffed with cheese and jalapenos). Blackened flounder. Bird songs. Bf. The marsh view. Sunset. Island escape.…
Hi, In case you were wondering, the beer tasting went well (duh). The Moo Hoo won by a long shot and I’d definitely buy it again. Matt actually picked out a fancy Southern Tier beer for me too (but I’m saving it….). We must know each other well! I’m back to being overwhelmed at work, so I wasn’t in the greatest of moods this evening. I def. have a love-hate relationship with working part-time. I feel phenomenal having more time…
I had way too many conversation hearts and I got to watch the Lion King – awesome V-day in my book. Also, it was fun to babysit because the kids brought home Valentine’s from their classmates and were really pumped to look through their bags. I usually claim that I’m neutral about Valentine’s Day – I don’t love it or hate it. But I think I just say that as a defense mechanism, because my feelings about the holiday used…
