Hello out there! It’s been tough finding time to blog since I started working part-time. I wrestle with the idea of quitting blogging all together, and it always makes me too sad. For now, I’ll still be popping in to share when I can. Speaking of the job (I’m working as a virtual school psychologist for a bit, since so many schools are struggling with the pandemic), it’s been a big learning curve to return to the field after 7…
Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas back in my hometown of Hillsborough!! It was both exhausting and relaxing. Exhausting because being away from home these days is tiring and the girls didn’t sleep all that well, but relaxing because there were grandparents and cousins to provide endless entertainment. The weather was gorgeous on the 24th, and we went to a local park for playing and exercise. My dad took my sister and me shopping for cowboy boots at a local shop…
We made it home to Hillsborough for the holidays. It took us forever to get out the door, both because packing for two kids is a whole new ballgame and because Avery had an ear infection and we had to wait for the prescription. It was actually good to get out of our house because we were forced to take a break from the never-ending to-do list that came with moving into our house. My sister’s fam came down from Charlottesville and I got to meet baby Birch! Gosh he was tiny and very cute! Emerson got along great…
This past week has been a true whirlwind with so many ups and downs! The good news is we are finally feeling settled and love our house and neighborhood! Our travel went smoothly and our truck arrived early in our delivery window. We’ve had some hiccups with the house (plumbing, heating, outdoor flooding) which was a rude reminder that home ownership is no piece of cake. I think it’s worth it though, and I have to pinch myself when I…
