Celebration

Yesterday afternoon I said goodbye to the high school and hello to the bar:)       Let’s just say the beers were going down fast. I had a Sam Brick Red, Abita Purple Haze, and a Long Trail Ale over the course of the afternoon. I hung out with my co-interns as well as some new people and there were lots of good laughs. It was a really an amazing afternoon. Then, Matt arrived and bought me a mojito! A group…

Out and About

Cooking

Today was wonderful; just how I wish every day could be. I went to spinning before work, rolled into the office around 9:30, left around 1:30 and enjoyed the rest of my afternoon running errands and strolling around Boston. There was nothing going on in the office, so I just left! I went straight to the Teriyaki house on my way home to get Chinese food for one of my counseling cases (since tomorrow will be our last session and…

Unemployed

Cooking

Today was my last day of babysitting! Now I am officially unemployed. It was a little sad, but mostly exciting. The weather was breezy and in the 70’s – perfect for lying under my tree while the kids played at the park. I wished a had brought a new book to start today, but I just enjoyed the sunshine. Then I took the little guy to J.P. Licks for a special ice cream treat. I got half peanut butter and…

One Last North End

Uncategorized

Ciao. For once, I’m not sad the weekend is over. This week is my LAST week of internship and I’m so excited for the journey to begin. This weekend was supposed to be low key, but it became more extravagant because Matt and I kept saying we only have two weeks left in Boston…. Saturday, we headed to the North End for one last dinner in little Italy. We choose Davide simply because we had a restaurant.com gift certificate. I…

Dark, Stormy, Nutty

Cooking

I love this whole having time on the weekends thing. I think I’m still recovering from being booked during the month of May. Despite the chilly weather, Friday even was nice and relaxed. I met Matt downtown afterwork and we grabbed a drink at the Intercontinental Hotel. We had planned on sitting outside on the water at one of the new Seaport restaurants, but decided it was too cold and windy. I still enjoyed a nautical drink – a pineapple…

Back to Back

Uncategorized

Today was looong, but for a very good reason! I had an afternoon party to attend (to bid farewell to three employees who are retiring my from department at my internship) and then a final seminar dinner at which I turned in all of my paperwork for my national certification as a school psychologist. The first party had lots of delicious food… I had two tastes of white wines, and decided I’d rather have a beer. There’s something about an…

All By Myself

Uncategorized

Hello, Hello. I’m just getting around to posting because I’ve been busy as a bee today. Matt was out of town at his 5 year college reunion so I had planned on doing a lot of lounging around. I started the lounging with a rum, triple sec, and lemonade cocktail creation (the only options in house) on Saturday, which was surprisingly fantastic. And a good ole helping of veggie burger + fries for dinner. Plus some amazing graduation cake from…

Night

Uncategorized

I am little behind schedule, friends, as the scary weather kept me at babysitting for an extra hour and a half today. With lightning strikes outside, a few cover letters to write, an interview to prepare for, and bedtime rapidly approaching, I cannot stay with you long this evening. I trust you will visit me tomorrow for a lengthier post:)…
