Back to Lentils

Whew…I am tired. So tired I didn’t bother to shower after the gym (ewww, gross – I know). I got up at the crack of dawn to prepare for an IEP meeting for which the parent did not show up:( The good news? I’ve only got three more assessment cases to close the door on before I will be officially finished with the work load at my internship. The.end.is.near. I’m starting to feel stressed about the move though. Like all…

Out on a School Night

Uncategorized

Work, spinning…you know the drill. But rather than cook dinner this evening, I got to eat out! One of Matt’s good friends and his wife were in town for the evening, so we caught up with them at Dillon’s for a quick drink n dinner. I had a Sam Brick Red…probably my favorite Boston beer other than the Sam Cherry Wheat and the Harpoon Belgian Pale Ale. I’m going to miss these local guys, but I’m excited to try some…

Officially Thawed

Cooking

For the first time this year, we broke 80 in Boston. Ahhhh, it felt fabulous. And it called for celebration with a refreshment. I enjoyed my first summer beer of the season while making Kath’s Maryland Salmon Cakes. I like salmon in general, but the canned stuff does make me a bit nervous. I was glad that I was on high alert when opening the can because I swear there was an entire vertebrate in there – not thin bones…

Magnificant Mess

Uncategorized

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening friends… I had a fast and fabulous Monday. Do you ever wonder why some days fly by and some drag on? Work was work. Afterwards, I did some online furniture shopping and then knocked out 3 miles at the gym. Matt got a last minute offer to play soccer, so I was on my own for dinner. I didn’t want to thaw the fish I had planned for the two of us just for…

A Night In

Cooking

Happy, Happy Saturday! Yes it is. It’s so fun just having a day to myself. I’ve already gotten so many things accomplished and we’re meeting friends for dinner tonight! Last night was low-key because, after two indulgent weekends, we decided a night in was in order. Around 5 o’clock I started getting that itch to go out, but as soon as we popped open a bottle of Rheinhessen, the urge went away. This was FAB-U-LOUS. My perfect white wine and…

Scramble n Toast

Cooking

Thanks for the interesting comments! I had fun reading them. Today was a great average day – I was productive at work, my lunch was great, I got my sweat on at spinning, I bought fun songs on iTunes, and I have a new hair dryer! I kind of hate drying my hair in the morning, but after three days of cold, wet hair, I’m pretty excited for tomorrow morning. And, I’m pretty excited for sun and the weekend. After…

Oops

Ramblings

And that, my friends, is an example of Ecto eating a post. The funny thing is: the post was actually titled Oops before it happened. I probably spent an hour typing the post, and I just don’t have it in me to re-type it. I’ll just dedicate this to my Conair hairdryer that stopping working this morning: thank you for doing a great job for many important events over the past seven years; you will be missed.…

We’re Here, We’re Home

Travel

Whew…that was a fast trip, but it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. And the scenery was just beautiful. I actually just walked in the door and I’m a bit overwhelmed with trying to unpack and get right to bed, so I’ll just leave you with some snaps of Friday night’s rehearsal dinner. We had the pleasure of enjoying a four course meal at one of Wolfgang Puck’s oldest restaurants, and one of the very first examples of Asian fusion food…

Mixed Bowl

Gah…I’ve been running around all night trying to get organized for tomorrow. Anticipation has turned into stress. I hate having to go straight from work to the airport because I have to lug my suitcase to the suburbs and back. But, boy I am glad that tomorrow is my Friday:) I had planned on trying to fit a workout in after babysitting, but I was just too tired, hungry, and head-achey. I keep thinking I’m going to adjust to the…
