You’re looking at one of the best combination on the face on the earth: sweet potato fries coated in caramel and cinnamon. Heaven. Matt and I first stumbled upon these fries about a year ago at the Boston Burger Company. We had to venture up to Somerville to pick up our rental car for today’s journey and decided it was the perfect evening to return to this hole in the wall that is known for crazy burger combinations. I normally…
Dinners
Thursday is a nice day. Something about being over the hump just brings anticipation and a little bit more productivity. I’m almost finished with a big report that’s due the week after spring break, so I feel good about my work load. I’ve got two more evaluations on my to-do list for May and then I may only have one or two more after that! I’m going to let out a big sigh of relief when my last IEP meeting…
Today was cozy. Ya know how every once and a while a nice rainy day just feels kinda fun? The main reason I felt this way is because babysitting was cancelled, so I didn’t have to walk my usual mile to pick up the little guy! Unexpected free time is the best. I read blogs, watched house hunters, and did a gentle bike ride at the gym. And then I made fANNEtastic black bean burgers on the wonderful brioche buns…
I never feel like the gym on Tuesdays. I left after 15 minutes and took a walk. And then I found myself in Anthropologie, drooling. Luckily, Matt intervened and whisked me away to Whole Foods to buy fresh haddock. Dinner was ready in just ten minutes. Pan seared haddock + my favorite apricot glaze from this recipe + veggies + couscous. Quick and delicious. I’m so mentally ready for spring break next week. And then I remembered I probably will…
Mmmm…70 degrees feels soooo good. I laced up the news shoes after work and went for my first run outside (in Boston) of the year. My shoes felt pretty good. Not fabulous, but solid enough that I think I’m going to keep them. Then run itself actually wasn’t too great, probably because I never run anymore and because I was still full from a massive luncheon we had at work today. Regardless of how my body felt, I really enjoyed…
Dare I say spring has arrived? It’s nothing like NC, but it did reach 60 today and the world came out of hiding. I’m actually sitting outside in an adirondack chair on campus, though I’m wearing both a sweatshirt and a sweater and I’m wrapped in a towel just to stay warm. The weekend was pleasant. Friday, I was lucky enough to taste the brand new Peak Organic Belgian before it’s officially released (I didn’t quite understand why this was…
It’s late, so I’ll make this one quick and let the pictures do the talking. PS: sorry about the blur on the right of some of the pics; I think I was doing a little too much nibbling with the camera and got a smudge on the lens:) So, it was my turn to host book club. Being the lover of wine and cheese that I am (and given that Sarah’s Key was set in France), I decided to make…
What is up? April showers have arrived in Boston. I actually don’t mind too much though because the temps are warmer and I heard a nice roll of thunder today. And you know what thunder means….summer’s on the way. Thunder always makes me think of childhood thunderstorms during hot North Carolina summers. Today was really rather ordinary. I worked, I spun, I ate, and now, I sit. Until the game comes on, then I’ll be cheering for Butler! Dinner, was…
Good evening, Anything exciting happen this weekend? If you guessed that I ate and drank my way through the weekend, you’d be correct! I also laughed, a lot. You see, Kath gave Matt a gift card to a local comedy club for his birthday and we cashed it in last night for two tickets to see a visiting comedian. Matt was playing soccer yesterday afternoon, so we didn’t have a whole lot of time to grab dinner before the show…
