Post-Vacation Blues

Travel

Although I’m usually glad to be home after traveling, I sometimes (ok, every time) feel a little blue upon returning from a fun weekend. So, occasionally, Matt and I like to ‘ease’ back into our routines with a post-vacation treat. Yesterday that treat was the Whole Foods hot bar. This was one of the best combinations of salads and meats I’ve had at the old hot bar…I love it when the flavors all come together. A beer was justified because…

Ditching Dinner

Uncategorized

So Matt and I gave in to the spirit of St. Patrick and ditched our dinner plans of cod and potatoes to go out to eat. We just couldn’t resist – partly because of the 60 degree temperatures and partly because were really jealous of all the college students partying with their windows open, decked in green and sequins. But, don’t worry, we didn’t go all out….we just got burgers at b.good and then grabbed a drink at a local…

Visit from a Leprechaun

Uncategorized

Hey, hey. It may be rainy, but it’s warmin up out there! The day flew by and I got some of my more annoying, mindless work done today (e.g. scoring assessments). Babysitting was typical and included lots of battles with Star Wars characters. Dinner was yet another TJ’s indian meal plus my beloved naan with butter. I’ve been on a real Indian kick since moving to Boston, and I’m worried I’m won’t be able to find the same quality of…

Stuffed with Goodness

My day started at 6:20 and my body did not like it. I went in a bit earlier than usual because I had an IEP meeting a little after 8. The meeting went well and the rest of my day flew by because there was a lot of action in our office today. After work, I made it through 20 minutes on the elliptical and two planks before I called it a day. All I want to do is sleep…

Choklat Affair

Uncategorized

So, my plan last night was to make a homemade pizza and try to get the Duke game on ESPN.com. But then Matt and I both caught Friday night fever and after stumbling on the beer list at the Mission, we just couldn’t resist a fun night out. So, we hopped on the train to mission hill and scored a seat at the bar, right in front of the game. When I see beers I haven’t tried, I sometimes get…

Herb’s Tilapia

Today I was busy busy and the hours flew by. I had an IEP in the morning, knocked out some testing in the afternoon, and got to sit in on an interview for a position my school is looking to fill next year. To be honest, being at the interview made me a little nervous about the coming months…. I went to a 5 o’clock spinning session, but the instructor had some trouble with her ipod and we had to…

Shells or Spirals?

Uncategorized

Hello friends, I’ve missed you. Between class on Monday and the event last night, I feel like I haven’t written a regular post in a while. I enjoy being busy, but I also love a night on the couch. All three of my supervisors were out of work today, so it was a pretty relaxed day of writing at my internship. I haven’t blogged about work in a while because I’m really in the swing of things and there haven’t…

Monday Musings

Rainy days are much more fun when they’re warm. I’m getting pretty fast at writing psych reports, but I’m not sure that’s a good thing. Is it weird that grocery shopping gives me a rush? I’m eating heart to heart cereal now, and it’s such an interesting invention. I wonder if there’s any story behind the creation of cereal. Has anyone been to Atlantic city? Matt and I might be making a stop there for a night. Last night…

Duke Loss, Beer Win

Uncategorized

Good weekend? Mine was pretty ordinary until I had a phenomenal beer and pizza experience last night. Matt and I had a gift certificate for a hole-in-the-wall joint called Penguin Pizza that’s been recommended to me numerous times for the extensive beer list. I actually would have stayed there all night if we didn’t have plans to meet up with friends right after dinner. I had the Widmer Barrel-Aged Brrbon, which is the best thing my lips has tasted since,…
