Nothing too exciting over here today. You know the Wednesday drill: work, lunch, babysitting, and dinner… Lunch was a little blah today. I put the last of the lentil-walnut burgers in a wrap, but it needed more cheese and more sauce (we ran out of mustard) because it was too dry. The only excitment of the day was checking the mail. Somehow Anthropologie knew that October is my birthday month and sent me this cute little pouch. It’s perfect for……
Dinners
As I was saying last night, I took a walk in the mall yesterday instead of going to the gym. I knew there were a lot of events going on for Boston fashion week and I was hoping to stumble upon some action (and I had to return a shirt). I got lucky because look what I found: A fashion show put on by Copley Place! I got there towards the end, so I didn’t get to see a whole…
Grey skies here in Boston and the air is getting chilly! But, my lunch really warmed me up. And so did this card I got from my Mom! There may have been something exciting to help me celebrate the changing of seasons inside…. I was also pleasantly surprised by the taste of my bean dip today! Maybe beans just needed to soak up the flavors overnight because this was zesty and delicious with pretzels. I guess I’m on an Oh…
I’ve always loved fall, but I never remember seeing as many autumn beers, recipes, and activities as I’ve seen this year. I love it! Maybe it’s just because I’ve been reading so many food blogs lately? Anyway, I’ve been inspired by countless fall recipes so I’ve had to start making a list of things I want to try. On the top of my list was Angela’s Maple Butternut Squash & Apple Casserole. I won’t repeat the directions because I followed…
How is it Sunday already? Remember when I started blogging because time was moving way too fast? Well, I think it’s moving even faster now. At least I’ve soaked up every minute of the weekend this far… While getting ready for dinner yesterday, Matt and I cracked open this Elephant Rock Bock that my parents bought us during our visit to the Just Beer Brewery this summer. It was just as delicious as I remember – slightly hoppy, but still…
Good Evening, Despite only 6 hours of sleep, I had productive day at the high school and left feeling content. I met with a few of the guidance counselors about my newly-assigned cases and made phone calls to parents. I’m just so pleased to be working at such an awesome place with welcoming, friendly faces:) I’m also pleased that it’s apple season because I’ve been eating them in some form every day. Sometimes I think apples are boring because I…
There’s nothing like a new coffee flavor to get you out of bed… The cinnamon bun flavor was really good, but not incredible. Creme brulee is a hard flavor to follow… But, I had one of the best bowls of oatmeal I’ve had all year. Just baked apples, raisins, and cinnamon sunflower butter mixed into a maple and brown sugar packet:) Work was just work today. I think the excitement of the first days has worn off, and the pressure…
Back to work I go. This weekend was quite fun and relaxing, but going to work sure feels productive. After all, I am essentially volunteering 1200 hours of my life to helping teenagers, which is a worthwhile use of a year in my twenties, right? Today flew by as we basically sat in meetings absorbing information all day long. Our only break was taken for a quick lunch. I enjoyed leftover carrots over a salad and a ham + laughing…
Friday just felt fab-u-lous! I think the weekends are going to have a whole new meaning for me:) After work, I got a hair cut and the head massage felt sooo good. I may have finally found a hair place that I like (and can afford) in Boston. I just got a trim, so you probably can’t tell a difference. My hair cut was in Fenway, so afterwards, I had to walk against hundreds of people going to the Red…
