We’re officially en route to Knoxville, Tennessee! On my last night in NC, I got to attend the lovely wedding of my good friend Brooke at the Carolina Inn in Chapel HIll. It was a nice evening for an outdoor ceremony because the sun had retreated behind the clouds. I loved that champagne was served right before the ceremony because we all mingled and got the party started before the ceremony:) Brooke looked gorgeous and you could tell that…

Hi Friends, Although I don’t have any official pictures back from our photographer yet, I wanted to do a more detailed recap of the wedding day. My sister was able to capture some of the day with her awesome camera, so she shared all of these photos with me! June 1st started around 8am for me. Despite being woken up by a strange garage door around 6, I had a wonderful night’s sleep. I went for a jog by myself…
The Friday before the wedding was another beautiful day! Almost everyone went to the beach, and I continued to be overwhelmed by how many familiar faces were in one place! I hid out under an umbrella to make sure I didn’t get much sun before the big day. Around 5, we headed to the adorable chapel to rehearse the ceremony. Is it bad luck to walk down the aisle? I hope not! Everything went smoothly so we had to kill…
I promised more detailed posts from the wedding weekend, so here’s the Thursday night recap! Because most of the rentals on the island required three-night minimum stays, and we knew our guests were spending a lot of money to travel, Matt and I ultimately decided to do bachelor and bachelorette parties on Thursday night. We had separate pre-parties and then combined the festivities on a boat that we chartered from nearby Carolina Beach. Since there’s only a small grocery store…
I can’t believe it’s been five years since college! It was so much fun to return to campus for our reunion. We stayed in the dorms – it was very festive, but I can’t believe how small those rooms are. And the beds are terribly uncomfortable. I didn’t do a whole lot of sleeping though:) Highlights of the weekend included seeing my friends again and catching up with those who weren’t at the wedding, walking around the adorable town of…
Yesterday was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. I married my best friend and celebrated with loved ones until the early morning hours. And the greatest part? I get to keep him!…
Congrats to Matt for not only making it through two challenging years of business school at Duke, but for getting awesome grades along the way and a fabulous job in the end!! I’m so proud:) Graduation weekend is complete and was fantastic!!!! Next up, wedding.…
The lovely ladies in Durham were kind enough to treat me to a bachelorette outing on Friday night! In lieu of big bachelor and bachelorette parties, Matt and I asked all of our friends to come to the island a day early to hang out and celebrate. So it was fun that I ended up having a little bachelorette party after all! We started the evening off at the Carolina Inn, where they have live music and drinks on Fridays…
Matt is officially finished with business school! Wooo hoo! He doesn’t graduate for two more weeks, but finishing eight terms at Fuqua is definitely something to celebrate! The Dean hosted a reception at the Nasher Museum with all kinds of goodies: The bbq salmon was so awesome!! And how cute are these little pimento cheese biscuits? I’m going to miss Durham’s pimento cheese obsession. More than the pimento cheese, I’m going to miss the people. Good thing some of these…
