I can finally cross Myers + Chang off my list, although I’m already excited to go back. The food was even more delicious and unique than I had heard! These kitties welcomed us into the restaurant with their mechanical paws. Mmmm…red wine. The Côtes du Rhône was bold and spicy, just how I like ’em. Matt and I had a difficult time deciding what to order, but we ultimately ordered based on our server’s recommendation. Up first: the sweet potato…

Hi guys, I whipped up a little guac this afternoon for the girls book club meeting tonight! The book was Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which I just couldn’t get through in time for the meeting. I still enjoyed the discussion, but after talking about the plot in-depth, I think I’ve had enough murder and sexual violence for now. The gathering was a nice break in the middle of the week. I enjoyed lots of fun food, friends, and wine.…
YesterDAY was not fun. I sat down around noon at Starbucks to try and knock out my case study, and it suddenly dawned on me just how much work I had to do. Then I threw a minor fit when I realized I had forgotten my lactose-free milk and stormed out of the ‘bucks to go home and retrieve it. This stomach stuff really gets to me because I feel so helpless about the whole situation. The good news is…
Hi guys, How was your weekend? I was able to fit a lot of fun stuff into my mini getaway to the Berkshires. Since our trip was only a one-nighter, we decided to start the vacation before we even left Boston with more pumpkin pancakes on Saturday morning. After picking up our rental car in Cambridge, we made a pit-stop in Newton to check out the Great Harvest!!! They had samples of an amazing pumpkin bread with gooey cinnamon. After two hours…
They’re here! My apt is all clean and ready for guests… and the guests came bearing gifts! These are cupcakes (that obviously got damaged in transport) from Fancy Cakes by Leslie in Bethesda!!! They were all delish, but the red velvet with purple icing was my fav. I’m assuming the ganache frosting may have had soy lecithin in it, but I made an exception, and had no adverse reactions [yet]!!! We popped open a bottle of wine from my small…
Yesterday was delightful. The other intern and practicum students at work were kind enough to bring in lots of treats in celebration of my birthday (and the other fall birthdays at work). I didn’t try everything (because of soy lecithin), but these pumpkin cookies (made by Lauren) were awesome and almost cake-like. I also had some homemade apple crisp made with apples picked over the weekend! I felt a little lost after work because I didn’t know if I should…
Celebrating is so fun:) Especially when it means going out to dinner on a week night! We chose Turner Fisheries, a swanky Back Bay restaurant that focuses on serving fresh, sustainable fish, simply because we had a restaurant.com gift certificate. When in grad school, the budget rules… That would be Mahi in a brown butter sauce over lobster pilaf. This was tasty and satisfying, but not incredible. Though Chunks of lobster are always appreciated on a Tuesday night. Thanks for…
My second day at my internship was a little bit boring as we spent the whole day purging old files and rearranging the current ones. I have multiple paper cuts. I also got to clean out a back room and make it into a more usable space, which was a fun project. I love cleansing/rearranging/organization projects, especially the end result of these kinds of projects. All of the interns were working so hard that we had to be reminded to…
Day two of my vacation started with stair climbing, but not in the gym… But first, I ate pastries. If there’s any time to eat dessert for breakfast, it’s when visiting a country with fresh-baked French pastries… Matt and I split these beauties along with coffee on the drive out of the city to the Montmorency Waterfalls. It was pouring on the drive over, but the rained suddenly stopped when we arrived. I wasn’t quite prepared for the cold temperatures…
